Hi Bees! I wanted to get the opinions of some of the smartest wedding peeps out there — you!
I have a dilemma. Most people want to add more things to the ceiling of their venue, but I actually want to tone mine down! The ceiling of our reception venue (a country club) has two huge brass chandeliers. I don’t mind them, just unfortunately, my colors are a more black/white/gray theme rather than brass. 🙂
Any ideas on how to tone them down? I thought of tulle, but I’m 6 hours from the location and won’t really have a chance to test it out – my fear is I’ll just make a huge white tulle ball!
Thanks in advance for your input!

I don’t think they will be too noticeable honestly. I’m sure whatever decor you’re bringing in will naturally be more noticeable at eye level!

I’ve seen them draped in fabric and it looked really pretty, but for the life of me I can’t find a photo. How high is the ceiling?
I think honestly most people aren’t going to notice, and I don’t think the colour is a big deal.

I’m not sure it would be safe to drape it in anyhting that wasn’t fireproof.
I too think that people will not even notice.
If it is a real concern to you, you could drape fabric underneath the chandelier so the light still shines through, but the chandelier itself is less visible.
A modern look is adding a shade to a chandelier but I am not sure this is realstic in this case.
