To each their own but why would you be in a rush to get out of your wedding dress?  It’s the one day you get to wear a dress like that.

All the weddings I’ve been to that could be classified as casual, the bride has always stayed in her dress.  While the dress is more formal than you’d wear as a guest to the reception, you’re the bride!  It has always look appropriate.

@MoopersMom:

I’m with you on this one. After 10 hours in my dress, I am pretty sure I have enjoyed wearing my dress long enough. We are buying the same type of shirts and wearing lululemon pants after the videographer and photographer leaves, around 10:30 pm, we have the hall until 1 am so I want to be comfy and enjoy dancing, without feeling constricted by my dress. I’m sure at that time I will want to take it off. My dress is the Divina and it’s pretty heavy.

@MoopersMom:  What are you expecting your guests to wear? I’d be a little ticked if I got dressed up for your wedding and you make an entrance in shorts and a shirt.

@julies1949:

I think most of the guests will realize that all the bride wants to do is feel comfortable and enjoy the rest of the evening with her guests. Most of the guests left around that time (for me anyhow) will be my family and they could care less.
