I always wanted more of a mermaid dress until I tried on “the one.” I fell in love with this dress, but was always left wanting more. I was going to leave it alone and let bygones be bygones until I saw this little beauty! It’s a VERY VERY VERY simple change in my mind but it makes a WORLD of difference. I have a very small frame and I think it’s lost in my “ballgown” I’m going to the seamstress today to ask if we can bring it in more around the waist and butt area to make it more fit and flare instead of ballgown. You can really tell in the front-facing pictures, I look so much wider than I am. This dress was not clipped, but I still want to go for more of a silhouette. I’m hoping it’s not a major change, but I think it will make a ton of difference. The middle two pictures are me.. so what do you think?!

I feel the same way about my dress. The one I tried on was 4 sizes too big, but w/ clips I could get the general idea. However, I too think my dress would look better aroudn the hips/butt to get more of a mermaid look. I’m going to wait until my dress comes in (not until May) and go from there……..

I think the dress looks beautiful on you and that you don’t need to change it. I don’t think it makes you look wide at all! HOWEVER, I think if you would feel better about your dress and if you’d feel more comfortable changing it then you should go for it! It sounds like you really want to change it and it sounds like you would feel more beautiful if you changed it, so I voted that you should change it.

even though i think you look GREAT in your dress, but you should go for changing it if you want to. i can kind of see it being more of a trumpet/mermaid, and i think it’ll look great like that too 🙂
