(Closed) Changing name (wedding 7/9), just hired as teacher… name on paperwork?

Absolutely fill it out with your current name.  Yeah, it sucks that you’ll have to change it later, but it’s the right thing to do.

Put your current legal name.  If something happens and you can’t change your name in time, the IRS is going to be super confused when you start getting paid under a different name than what is on file with your SSN.  You can file a new W4 after you get married, I still had ones in my maiden name the first year I got married and it was fine.

I agree with exactly what you said.  Also, remember for the background check even if you’d changed your name already, they would still need any previous names you’ve held

@Future Frett:  I’d let the principal or tech person know, too – for something like an email address, there’s no point in setting one up under your maiden name if you’ll never use that there professionally, and things like that aren’t legal or fiscal so it shouldn’t be a big deal.
