I have been looking into all the different options in the change your name game, and I know rules differ from state to state so I was wondering if any Oregon Bees have any experience in changing of the name, or what you plan on doing.

I am really interested in taking Hislastname and adding it to Mylastname (two last names, no hypen) but I think Oregon they only allow certain things.

Bump....I'm very curious about this also, as I'll be changing my name this year, too.

I changed my name after moving here (all of my paperwork was from GA) and I'm not sure of the specific rules for something that you're thinking about...but, I did drop my middle name and moved my maiden name to my middle name with no problem.

I had a sheet that was signed by the person to issue our marriage license in GA with all of the information I needed to take to the Social Security Office and it took about 10 minutes to get that taken care of and I got a piece of paper as a holder Social Security card. I used the holder card at the DMV to get my new OR license with new name.

When we got our license (Multnomah County) They only had a few options for name changes, they were:

    No Change

    Firstname Middlename Hislastname

    Firstname Yourlastname Hislastname

    Firstname Middlename Hislastname-Yourlastname

    Firstname Middlename Yourlastname-Hislastname

That was it. He can also change his name, but those were still the options, just replace "his" with "her".

I don't know if this is an Oregon wide rule or a Multnomah County thing.
