Sure, invite the in-towners, but don't make them a tote. : (1 votes)

Our wedding will have mostly OOT guests.  I had intended on having an OOT night, the night before the wedding, where I invited all of the OOT guests to come to our cabin on the lake, enjoy a campfire, have some fun with s'mores and sparklers and give out OOT tote bags.

Well, I feel a little bad not including the few in-town friends.  They'd only add up to about 12 extras and I don't live "in-town" myself, so it's not like I see them a lot!  So I'm now considering that the OOT Totes should be "Wedding Weekend" Totes and I should make one for everyone.  The only things in the tote that are specifically for OOTers are a state map and local tourist info - that are free to me - and not terrible for the locals to have an extra of. The totes, aside from being custom screen-printed awesomeness, will have sunscreen, homemade natural lavender soap, custom postcards and a wedding weekend guide.  So it seems reasonable, to me, to just include all guests in such an evening.  (And if they choose not to come, then they miss out on their own accord.)

Does this sound reasonable??  Have you heard of anyone else doing such a thing??  We will still have a wedding favor, but it's just a piece of maple sugar candy, so nothing fancy.

If it's no huge cost or effort for you to include the in-towners and a bag for the in-towners than sure, why not? I think that if i was one of a few guests that were in-town and all the other guests got invited to a party and got a bag of goodies, i think i might feel a little left out.

Totally agree, if you can get away with it, include everyone. I'm doing the same thing!
