I wore mine all night. Wasn’t a problem at all.

There is no way anyone was getting me out of that dress before I absolutely HAD to take it off. I loved it.

I loved my dress and I wore it all night long. DH helped me out of it when we finally made it back to our hotel room. He was mostly confused by the longline bra and petticoat.

I wore 3 different dresses: wedding, reception, Chinese traditional one. It’s a hassle changing dresses, thank goodness for my bridesmaids. Some Chinese weddings have more dresses, I’ve seen up to 5 which I think is ridiculous. My MIL wanted me to wear one more dress but I refused. In reality, I only wanted the wedding and Chinese one at most.

Edited to add: Asians don’t tend to buy wedding/reception dresses, they rent them which is how they can afford to wear so many dresses.

@absolutely_tati:  My seamstress asked me if I was going to have a reception dress bc it would be easier than doing all the alterations to mine.  I was like not a chance!  For what I’m paying for this dress I want to be able to wear it for as long as I can! LOL Having two dresses is a popular thing right now, but it definitely isn’t necessary so if you love your dress..just wear it all night 🙂

No WAY would I have changed my dress if we’d had dancing at our reception! I would have worn that baby all night long!

But instead we had a luncheon, and went out dancing that night. So I wore a second dress (so no drunk people would throw up on my dress!)

I wore my dress for the entire wedding and reception.  I never was interested in getting a reception dress, at all.  I loved my wedding dress!!

@whoa_its_ash:  +1. This was me.  If my DH hadn’t coaxed me out of the dress and into some comfy clothes for the afterparty, I would have probably been twirling around singing “Maarriieeeeeed” all night long.

I am planning to wear 4… it’s a Chinese trend.   1 red dress for tea ceremony, 1 evening dress and two gowns.  I’m wearing two wedding gowns, one for my ceremony and one for reception.  The one for the ceremony is within the photo package.. the one for reception has special meaning to me.. it’s too bad it won’t fit the church that well

The very first time my FI see me in photo from his BFF’s phone is me in that wedding gown, I was the bridal model for my friend’s store grand opening. I dun care what others say, I will be in that gown somehow on my big day.  Best if I can have the same make up and same hair style heheEmbarassed

@absolutely_tati:  I won’t be purchasing two dresses, I don’t really see the point.. I am choosing a wedding dress that I love and want to keep on ALL night!

OMG!  Nobody could get me out of my dress before I had to take it off either!  I loooved my dress!  (Though I hated the bustier which left bruises on me where the wires were).  Don’t let anyone talk you into thinking you need a “reception dress” if you want to wear that gorgeous dress you picked aalllll night long!!  🙂

I have two dresses, and there is a VERY GOOD reason for this!

We’re getting married in the morning!  We will have a 10am ceremony and a ceremony immediately following, which will end at 3pm.  I still want to feel like a bride for the rest of the day, so I will don my second dress!

My 1st dress is a San Patrick Clamor – all trumpety and lacey, and stunning!
My 2nd dress I bought for $75 at David’s bridal – on special!  It has lace cap sleeves with no train and jersey material – and recently discontinued!
