Nope, but we only had a six month engagement. If you are going to move the date anyway, I’d move it to sooner than that! It’s a long grueling process and the quicker you get it over with the better I say.

I am hoping this will be the case for us..initially we wanted Oct 2010, but now we decided it might be less stressful to wait another year and have it on Sept 10, 2011.  I do think it is very far off and don’t think I can deal with wedding brain for that long.  I am hoping for a financial miracle so we can move up the date.

I say move it! We got engaged in Feb 2009 and are getting married in Sept 2010 and I’m so over it already! I thought I’d want a long engagement because you never get to be engaged again and I love planning as well. However, now I just want to be married. I hate only having the wedding to talk about because it is literally my life.

Seriously, I vote to move it up!  We got engaged in December, and I’m sooooo over it.  I wish it was sooner!  Also, why would you get the ring in december and not announce it right away?

I vote – move it up!  We were engagned in Dec 06 and married the next April 07.  I can’t speak highly enough for a short engagement!  Especially if it’s already mostly planned and saving the money isn’t an issue. 🙂

You should move it up.  We planned a year engagement to give time to plan and save the money.  Well, I have planned everything in 2-3 months and it took less than 6 months of penny pinching to save everything we needed.  Now we have 7 months to wait and have some friends that got engaged after us getting married next months.  If I had not already made 1/2 the invites and save the dates, we would move the date up too.
