    Last month I found my new name on gmail so I  registered for it.  It felt weird to do before the fact but now I'm glad  I did.  He got his own gmail with his name also and now we just use it for each other. I'll eventually switch over AFTER the wedding.  Yay! Way easier than the formalities of changing  your name via documents!

    i was able to register a new email under Mr. Contrary's last name the day after we got engaged! He has such a common European last name i'm pretty amazed that i was able to get my name, middle initial and his last name without any trouble!

    I registered my Gmail account a few months before the wedding one day when I was thinking about it.  I didn't give it to anyone until after we got back from the honeymoon, though!

    I signed up for a Gmail account with my first/his last name but will not be letting anyone know until we are married. His last name is super common (as is mine) so I took a cue from some other Bees & signed up. :)

Grr. the best I could get are my old initials.hislastname   (abc.smith@gmail.com) grr!!  Changing your Email Address to Include His Last Name : wedding email address register new name Icon Razz

    I'm not doing it at all, so I didn't vote Changing your Email Address to Include His Last Name : wedding email address register new name Icon Wink.  Even if I decide to adopt his name in some form, I would only change it on my settings and not on the address itself.  It will be fine for me, since I would either take his last name as a second middle (so it wouldn't make sense to change my email) or tack it on as a second last (in which case it wouldn't matter that I kept my old name as my email because everyone would still know me by that name).  My only married friend who changed her name also kept the same email address and changed the display name, but her address was only her first, middle, and last initial (i.e. janemarys@site.com) so it doesn't seem much at odds with her new name.

    I'm so bummed, I had made a email address for both of us for our wedding website, but I didn't think about creating one for me with my married last name!  I just tried and they are out of every combination on gmail :(

    @boogerette - That's way cute!

    My sister had the hardest time finding a good gmail name combination after she got married, so I panicked and reserved mine right away. We totally weren't even engaged yet... hee.

    I got one with my first name and his last name a few months after we got engaged. I am not sure if I want to switch over yet since my current email is my first name and middle name. I will, however, be changing the name that comes up when I send an email to my new last name

    Since I'm not changing my name I just created my gmail address to be Initial of First name, Current name, His last name @ gmail.com

    That way I never have to worry about changing it and it also signifies that I am taken :)
