I have pretty much determined that I can’t be arsed to have china at the wedding. There are so many other things that just seem to matter more and make a bigger visual impact, and it seems like it will be a PITA to rinse and transport all those plates, etc. back to a city we don’t actually live in any more after the wedding, especially since we both have small cars.
So we are thinking of using high quality acrylic. The thing is, we already have gold charger plates. What I want to do is to see which of these is a nicer-looking solution.
So, bees: Which do you like better? Keep in mind the colors may be slightly off; this is basically just to see which plate looks better with the chargers we have, and I wasn’t able to find a charger exactly the same color as what we have.
So, accounting for slight color variations (and ignoring the sub-par Photoshop job)…which one is your favorite?
*All of these are from SmartyHadAParty.com. Does anyone know about the quality of their acrylic plates?
#1: Ivory Geometric
#2: Gold Dots
#3: Gold Speckled
#4 Fancy Scrollwork
#5 Ivory Scalloped
Any suggestions (or even just letting me know which ones you really don’t care for) would be helpful.

@EffieTrinket: I think the gold dots look very classy.

I think it depends on the feel of your wedding. I think the 2nd ones (gold dots) are super fun, but #4 (scrollwork) would suit a more formal wedding better IMO so it just depends. Those two are my favorites though.
The only one I really don’t like is the last one. To me it looks like someone just sat a serving platter on top of a charger.

I love the gold speckled!

By “not having china” do you mean your guests will be eating off the charger plates? I think most of those are actually not rated for eating off of due to metal content in the paint/finish. Love the polka dots, though!

@crayfish: I don’t think they are, either. (At least, the packaging of the chargers seemed to suggest this was a really bad idea.) The “none of these” option was more of a “I think you should consider a different style of plate” rather than a “just eating off the chargers is good enough.” 😀
The ivory plates on the chargers in the pics are actually meant to be eaten off. I am a little worried about how heavy-duty they are, though.
