I love the idea! It would definitely add something a little special to your tables! It’d be a cool way to even coordinate your favors, menus, or linens all to go with.

I am with you. I hate spending the money for chargers but I just think it adds a certain element to the table so we are splurging for it. If you are having bbq, I think that having a paper placemat would fit well and I think you could do so many fun and creative things with it! Unfortunately, I’m not very creative myself so I can’t help you with ideas but it could be another of way introducing your accent color.

What about getting plastic chargers like from this site?  They are selling 10 plastic chargers for $4.99. For 150 charers, it will only cost you about $75.

@ttn133: Am I missing something…or are the chargers 4.99 *each*? That’s a lot of money!

@crystalirene: Thanks! I still can’t find where it says 10, but I’m definitely bookmarking this.

Brides are coming up with a lot of alternatives to charger plates. The scrapbook option would be lovely.

    Other options are:

paper doilies charger plates? : wedding charger place setting decor chargers PH550161

    cork board

a previous post talked about spray painting inexpensive plastic chargers on the back side

@crystalirene: Yeah, @RayRayFurious: is right.  The name of the charger is “Ten Strawberry Street”  Sorry. I thought it was 10 chargers, too.

I did buy about 20 chargers from Target. I think I paid $2.50 for a box of 5.  It was on clearance after the holiday sales.  Did you try checking out holiday clearance?

I bought 150 charges from Bed Bath and Beyond and it cost me around $188.  I saved up those coupons they send out and used it on every single box of 6.  I box of 6 is 9.99 plus either the 20% off coupon or the $5 off coupon.  It was a steal.

they are even further on sale now  http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=15970480

Girls – Be sure to check ebay, Craigslist, The Knot, and other sources to see if former brides are selling their lightly used chargers.
