For sure, I would like to do a charity favor instead of a normal take-home favor. FWIW, we also have a photobooth so it’s not like people won’t have anything to take home- just not an “official” favor. I’m leaning towards a local pet rescue/adoption charity as we have pets and are known to be huge animal lovers.
1) How should I word this? I’ve read about this extensively online and found that people took offense with the words “in your honor, we…” or “in your name, we…” I would also like to include a very brief (5-6 words?) explanation of the charity itself, except maybe if it’s very self-explanatory (e.g. XYZ animal shelter vs XYZ foundation).
2) How should I “display” this, as I would like to build some awareness about the cause (though i realize this is not a fundraiser)? Of course, I would also like to keep the costs low because the way I see it, every $1 I spend getting something made or printed is one less $1 that can be given to the charity. I do have some graphic design background so options include Vistaprint postcards (I think I saw a code for 100 free) or a simple sign located by the guestbook.
