(a) I love the idea. Your wedding is, in every way, a reflection of what is important to you and your fiance. (Or at least I think it should be.) If a charity registry is the best reflection of the values you and your fiance share and want to cultivate together in your new family, go for it! I think as long as you handle the situation with the delicacy it requires (as with ANY gift-giving situation), there’s no reason for your guests to be put off by it. If they love the idea, they’ll donate. If they don’t love the idea, they’ll give you a more traditional gift or cash. People are smart, they will figure it out Smile

 

(b) I’d likely make a donation to the charity and also give the couple some money.
