@Khartman00:  We are using Mosaic, family style food only is $44.20 per head. We could definitely pare that down though. I would highly recommend them. They were the least expensive quote we got, fyi. Others we quoted were Hamby, Duvall, and Three Little Birds.

@Khartman00:  Yum, I LOVE Mosaic!

Another place to check out is Cafe Catering in Mt P! They are really awesome.

Also, we looked at Cooper River Room! It’s a neat spot.

@Khartman00:  Be persistent! Anyone who didn’t contact me back within a week I removed from my list.

Honestly, though, my best piece of advice is to get a planner, if you can. I can recommend ours, and also the girl we didn’t go with, who was defintely a close second, and has great reviews. PM me and I can share that info, if you like, including the quotes we got (way back when…)

It may seem like an unnecessary expense, but ours has paid for herself in discounts, and has led us to GREAT vendors that we wouldn’t have considered on our own.

Also – let me know who you are interested in, and if we are using them, I can try to get you in touch!

Also, we’re at Legare Waring 🙂

@Khartman00:  I think one of the biggest things I found is that I chose a reception venue (Pavilion at Patriots Point Links) mostly because their venue offered so much in one package. I find this IMMENSELY easier than dealing with a venue, a catering company, a rental company, a bartending service, etc. In your case, since you already have the venue, I would try to find an option for caterer that offers all of the other things in one package (linens, alcohol, food) I basically have chosen vendors who offer not just one service but more than that. (Another example: the DJ company we’re using is also providing our photobooth-with guestbook, uplighting, trolley transport night of, and we almost used them for our officiant. It cuts down on the number of people you have to coordinate with which will drive you insane!

Also, I am MINIMIZING the amount of DIY things that I am doing. Once I’m down there, there’s no way I want to deal with putting together flower arrangements or setting up at the venue day of. Find vendors that can do this for you! It may be a little more money, but I swear it will keep me sane.

Also, we do not have a coordinator except for day of (which is included in our venue –woot!). I basically asked every company for a discount and I got one-literally just asking has saved me thousands of dollars. When I first started wedding planning one of my friends told me, “EVERYTHING is negotiable. The worst thing they can do is say no.” Even though this is simple advice it helped me immensely, especially in Charleston where things are SO expensive.

I do agree with wiping off vendors who are not responsive.

Good luck girly!
