We are all set! My favorite vendors I'm using...
DOC: Southern Protocol
Photographer: Jennifer Bearden (I LOVE HER!)
We are reception venue twins! :)
@june42011: I know! I might be in town in 2 weeks to meet with my DOC Amanda at Southern Chic Weddings to go over the Old Exchange!
Our Band is the Charlie Roberts Duo from Savannah!
@june42011: I have heard great things about Jennifer Bearden (a friend of mine used her last year and loved her!) but she was already booked for our date.
we found another AWESOME photographer who is super affordable - Stephen Blackmon. we are super excited!
florist - Blossoms Events
DJ - Lee Edwards
I'll be in Charleston this weekend banging out wedding details:
-siging a contract with Cafe Catering
-meeting with OOH Events Floral department and hopefully WildFlowers too
-meeting at least one photographer
-meeting my wedding planner
-looking at hotel blocks
and anything else I can fit into 4 days!!!
So far my vendors are...
Ceremony/Reception Venue: Boone Hall Plantation
Event Producer/Floral Designer: Ooh! Events
Photographer: Richard Israel
Wedding Dress: Pnina Tornai
I'm still working on finding the perfect caterer and videographer but it's slowly coming together. I think for the reception we're going with a band and then DJ but still haven't found them yet either.
My whole design concept is a whimsical vintage shabby chic wedding so I'm also hoping to find a cool designer where I can find a really retro 50-60's style dress for my reception.
And today we found out Wild Dunes is available for our catering so we will be using them for off-site catering at Boone Hall. So excited! Now looking for a spectacular videographer..anyone have any suggestions?
We're looking for a videographer too - perhaps a student or someone just starting out. But here are the rest of our vendors:
Venue: American Theater
Photographer: Stacey Howell Photography
DJ: Versatile Beats Productions
Officiant: Low Country Wedding Minister
Dress: Bridal Mart (Burlington, NC)
Tux: Men's Wearhouse
The couple of videographers I've heard about are
The prices start at $650 and go up. We might go with Lowcountry Lens, but my photographer recommends Hart to Heart. I haven't gotten a quote from them yet.
We're using Cafe Catering and Carmen Ash Photography as well. Has anyone used the Unitarian Church or the French Huguenot Church? We're thinking of moving our ceremony indoors... Working on my florist next!
I'm considering Old Exchange Building as well for my reception! How many guests are yall anticipating? Also, we want at least a 4 or 5 piece motown band there, do you think the space is large enough for that & buffet stations? We were considering outdoor ceremony locations, but because our date is 3.10.12, we're worried about the weather & moved it indoors to a church. We really like the Huguenot Church too!
@feh9b: When we reserved the Old Exchange they told us no more than 3 pieces for the band. Maybe they would let you slide with 4, but the space isn't huge. We're also doing a sit down dinner but i know @june42011 is doing stations there, so I'd ask her. Keep us posted!!
@feh9b: Yep I'm doing stations. There will be 6 I believe? They are going to be set up between the columns in the hall. We are having a DJ and he will be in the back corner, dance floor in the middle. Its not a very large venue and I think spacing will depend on how many people you are having. We are planning on between 100-125.
We actually changed our minds & have since booked the Hibernian Hall. It's a little bigger to allow for a band with a stage already built in. Since I'm a member of our church, luckily we're saving some money there. Still trying to decide on caterer...it's so expensive!!
Our big day is November 13
Ceremony & reception- the Gatherings of Dorchester
DJ- Jay Maxwell's Music By Request
Catering- Southern Occasions
Bar- Southern Occasions (beer & wine only)
Cake- Carolina Cake Queen
Photography- Holy City Photography
I'm sticking to a tight budget & planning my wedding from NY (I'm from Charleston though) Southern Occasions & great prices & I'm going to have a tasting next weekend. I'm still in need of a decent priced oficiant.
This is going to be pretty long, but since my wedding is over and I was satisfied with all of my vendors, I figured I'd share! Let me know if you guys have questions.

@Pink Peony: Our experience with Shutter Booth was great!!! They were fantastic to work with! They were so professional and prompt. We paid $800 for three hours. We did three hours because we didn't see a need to have it for the extra hour during food and such. Plus, with our group of people we knew that if they had time to get some drinks in them, they would have more fun with it. :) They help you design your custom logo for the prints. The money includes their travel from Columbia SC, use of their props and equipment for three hours, a DVD of all of the photos taken, a choice of two layouts. One or two people on site to run the booth and the custom logo. Oh yeah, and unlimited prints for your guests! Overall, it was what our guests raved over most. Well worth the money.:) I hope this helps. I forgot to add, their props were awesome!!! Hats, masks, mustaches, word bubbles. Amazing!
@Miss Seersucker: Thanks it does help. It's a little out of our budget, but I'll have to talk to them about the pricing. Where did y'all get ready beforehand? We're trying to sort out a place downtown since we're all staying in beach houses in Folly and it'll be a hot mess down there.
Also, I saw you used Charlotte for your hair. Any thoughts??
I'm using Hyer images for a photographer and so far they have been great. I keep checking out their blog and love their work.
I'm still trying to book a videographer. Hopefully I can find one soon!

I wish I could edit my post... I didn't use Cover girl brides, she was horrible.
I also used The Thomas Bennett house for my bridals and I'm so glad I did, our photos are beautiful from there.
