Hello ladies! We are planning a wedding in Charleston for memorial day of 2014. I need suggestions for reasonably priced vendors including cake, flowers, rental supplies (tables, chairs, tent, lights, ect). Due to our guest size we will need to provide our own silverware, plates and glasses. Everywhere I’ve looked has silverware listed at 50 cents per piece which seems high to me. Has anyone used Reflections plastic silverware? Any and all suggestions are welcomed. Thank you! 🙂

Unfortunately nothing in Charleston is cheap. I have heard that for rentals, Snyder offers the most reasonable price of the rental companys in Charleston. I have also heard that Horst Wholesale flowers does weddings as well for cheaper than the normal floral companies in Charleston. I have not used either yet so I don’t have first hand knowledge. Considering your weekend things will be at a premium so its great that you are starting now. Good luck! If I come across any more information I will let you know.

@JenniferMm: Thanks for the tips! We found plastic silverware at Costco for a lot less so that should help. I’ve heard Whole Foods does wedding flowers and that Publix makes great wedding cakes. Both for about half the cost of other places. Do you know anyone who has used either of them? Thanks again! 🙂

@awalsh7015: My friend used Publix for her wedding cake and it was beautiful and delicious. I’m not sure if you have your heart set on a traditional wedding cake, but I am doing multiple one tiered cakes with different flavors and it is a heck of a lot cheaper- it’s when you add tiers that prices dramatically increase. However, my baker P.I.E. (downtown on Warren Street) is only $3 a slice for multi-tiers and does a great job.
I’ve never eaten a Whole Foods cake, but my friends sister used to be a baker there and she made gorgeous cakes.
