Yup - it just happened to me, although I didn't have full-blown period symptoms. I had lighter bleeding, no cramps. The bleeding has continued for several weeks and my doctor isn't overly worried; she said I may be one of the unfortunate women who could bleed all the way through pregnancy. She said unless it becomes heavy and is accompanied by cramping, I shouldn't be too nervous. FWIW we were doing the same thing as you - "not trying not to." It took me a while to test because I assumed I was having my period. The high temps were the thing that eventually made me take the test. Congrats and good luck :)
I've had high temps for the first couple days of a period, and then the temps dropped a couple days in.
Like superk, my temps can stay high for up to 5 days after starting my period. I think it's pretty common. I'd say if you had heavy bleeding and cramping, pg is unlikely, but keep a watchful eye on your upcoming temps, just in case :)
My temps tend to be a bit high during my period, but they are usually a few decimals lower than after ovulation.
A friend thought she had a full period, and then started feeling sick three weeks later. She went to the doc, and was seven weeks pregnant. She had been trying, but the bleeding was heavy enough for her to think she had her period, when she was already pregnant!
Maybe take a test? It can't hurt!
Thanks girls! I've been charting for about 9 months and my temps always drop the day my period starts so that's why I was wondering. But DH said he was REALLY hot when he woke up this morning, so maybe our apartment was just warmer than usual? Or maybe he had a fever and was warming me up?
I don't think I'm pregnant, but it's kind of exciting to think that maybe I am :)
Not yet... DH made me promise to wait til he gets home... I'll let ya know though :)
I'm almost sure it will be negative. But... I would be excited if it wasn't!
This happened to me this month, too. My temp always always drops way low starting right when AF visits and for some reason it stayed high until like 5 days in this cycle. It's actually been higher than normal the whole cycle so far. I'd say test for sure though, I'm a big fan of peeing on the stick :)
I finally took a test last night and it said negative... Which is fine, but I'm still confused by my high temps. If it stays high for anotehr few days I'll test again.
Maybe my thermometer got broken somehow?
Have you ever heard of Lunar Fertility? Apparently, women who pay attention to the moon cycle can spontaneously ovulate when the moon is in the exact phase that it was on the day you were born. I have a master's degree in human physiology & biophysics, and I used to chart my temps just for my own observation purposes (and to avoid becoming pregnant) and found that during certain months I did ovulate during my lunar phase. You can google "lunar fertility" and read all about it! Just some food for thought :)

So DH and I use FAM for birth control. Last month, we decided we wanted to "not try not to" conceive so we had unprotected sex a few times during my fertile phase.
I got my period on Saturday (heavy with lots of cramping)... but when I took my temp this morning it was still high! I didn't temp Saturday, Sunday or Monday, and I know I should be patient and wait to temp again tomorrow to see if today's high temp was just a fluke, but have any of you been pregnant but had what appeared to be a full-blown period? I know about implantation bleeding and that sometimes you can get faint bleeding and still be pregnant....
We'd be thrilled if we were pregnant, but are totally fine if it isn't our time yet. Just curious if anyone has had similar experiences!
