Hi Bees –
First cycle off BCP and have started charting. It looked as though my first cycle was behaving textbook-like, with FF predicting O on C13. However, the big spike you see on CD17 was likely due to the ~4 drinks I consumed the evening before, and as you can see, my temperature has since dropped at/below my line.
Now looking at my chart, even though I’m no expert, I think it probably looks like I haven’t ovulated at all? If you drop below the line that soon after the supposed O date, is that a pretty good assumption to make?
Here’s my chart:

I think you did O on CD13. Lots of women have dips post O, could be an implantation dip of a corpus luteum dip.
Just in case you haven’t heard of it. Corpus Luteum Dip – This is NOT at all related to an implantation dip. You will see this dip happen at (some women) between 2- to 5 days passed ovulation. This is when your estrogen dips (drops) and your Corpus Luteum takes over produce more progesterone.

@sunnyday1: It seems to me like you ovulated on CD13. You had more than one high temp over the coverline. Wait a few days and see what happens.

ummmm!!! I am puzzled. Yes, it looks like you O’ed on the 13th, but your low temps after that, its making me puzzled. If your temp raises then its your corpus luteum dip, which is totally normal. FX (btw i added you on FF)

Thanks for the responses! I had actually never heard of Corpus Luteum dip, so hopefully that’s what it was.

@sunnyday1: whats with the white dots? I’m inclined to say that you haven’t O’d yet for the reasons @MrsR4ever stated. Perhaps also try checking/charting your cervical mucous? I’m friendingbyou as well. Hopefully your chart will be much more clear in a couple days.

Delete CD17’s spike and see what happens. Maybe you O’d on CD16 or 18.
Wanted to add that my 1st cycle of BC I O’d on CD24 and had a 36 day cycle. 2nd month CD29…there is a chance you might not have O’d yet.

@aliciapdx: HHmm…..I’m not sure what the white dots mean? Anybody else know? Check out the spike that happened today – weird! My chart certainly doesn’t look like the norm!

Why when I try to reference somebody (like @aliciapdx in the previous message), it doesnt show up like a link? Do I have to do something special other than just type it out?
@sunnyday1: To get it to show up as a link, you click reply under their message.
Also, I think the white dots mean that you were sleep deprived. I know when I put my temps in and I click sleep deprived, it shows up as a white dot. Did you mark sleep deprived on CD 18 or 19?
It could also be a weird cycle for you because it is your first off BirthControl.

I know my first cycle after getting my IUD out was crazy, so it’s possible you hadn’t O’d yet, though it looks like you might have yesterday and today is your actual temp spike. I say throw out the temp for the morning after you drank and see what FF does.

So I changed my alcohol spike day to temperatures at/below/discarded and none of it changed my crosshairs. I also discovered:
Open Circles and Dots:
If something in the data indicates that the temperature may be slightly inaccurate (either by events selected in the Special data area or by a time difference larger than normal), the temperature is plotted using a circle instead of a dot. Please note that these points do not need to be discarded. The circle will just indicate to the reader areas on the chart where the data may be less accurate.

The open circles usually mean your temperature was taken under different circumstances (earlier or later time, sleep deprived..etc). It looks to me like CD13, though its possible you didn’t O-yet. Keep charting and feel free to join the Charters of the Hive threads! We can help you out with any more questions you might have!

I think you O-ed on CD 20 if you get 2 more high temps after this one.

@sunnyday1: sorry, my question was more along the lines of what caused your white dots than what do white dots mean. Seeing your temp spike makes.me think you o’d on CD20 as others have said.
