What’s you budget? We got everything from our florist for $450, but I don’t know if you find that cheap or expensive. We’re getting aisle flowers and centerpieces from a women at our farmers market – white, yellow, and green zinnias for $4 per dozen, and they’re lovely. She had lots of beautiful bouquets in vases for $6-8. Buying local is a bonus.

To help your budget look into Costco, your local grocery store, flowers in season during the time of your wedding – I am sure Dallas has a flower mart, have you checked that out?  Also Fifty Flowers is a great resource…

You can order in bulk in advance from Sam’s Club.  I’ve known of people doing that and the quality is really good.

If $500 sounds okay to you I would sit down with a good florist and go through some ideas. But, make sure you have a budget first. It may sound okay right now to worry about buckets and boxes of flowers the day before your wedding, but to me, now 8 days out, the fact that flowers will show up for the wedding, arranged in bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, centerpieces, etc. is a big relief. Plus my florist was great. We had an hour long conversation when we booked her about our general ideas, so we had a budget, then another hour conversation a month before the wedding when everyone had their dresses, so we could figure out colors. She pulled out potential flowers so we could assemble ideas and see how they looked together. She also had books of her past work so I could tell her the style of bouquets and then she could just do them in our colors. Since florists know their flowers she could say how about this or that flower that I’d never heard of.
