@GirlWithARing: Try lifebooker.com
The place I get my haircut is running a blow out and style special for $30.
Oops, I was wrong, that was for a blow out. Some others are offering Up-Dos for $45.
I use lifebooker or dramatics. Before I went to lifebooker I tried way to many salons who charged me top prices but gave me the same results I get from a discount salon. If I'm going to be kept waiting in between my high lights and haircut regardless I'd rather pay $100 less for it. But I digress. I've never had an updo in the city, but Xoblow is a great blowout place too.
Thanks guys - this is much more in my budget :)

Hi NYC bees! Can anyone recommend a good, not crazy-expensive place to get my hair done for an event? I wanted to get a half-up/half-down style and all the places I've called so far are like $80+, which is more than I paid for my wedding hair (of course, that was in Philly so maybe I'm not being realistic here...)
Thank you :)
