@primepretty: First CONGRATULATIONS on your recent marriage.

Couple of Questions:

1- Your WBee Profile says Orlando, is this where you live / will be starting from ?

2- What month are you looking at in 2014 ?

3- What kind of stuff are you & your Hubby interested in doing when you are on vacation ?

Sightseeing – Geography – History – Adventure – Beach – Culture – Food & Wine – Pampering etc ?

Travelzoo or cheapcarribean.com has great travel deals! It depends on what you like doing – things I may like may be different from what you like!

I wouldn’t mind going camping/white water rafting in WV, going to Bonaroo music festival outside of Nashville, going skiing/etc somewhere in Colorado – I’m sure there are a lot of things you could do for that price!

@primepretty:  I highly recommend a 7+ day cruise, especially of the Eastern or Southern Caribbean. I did one for my first wedding and loved it. Other people take care of transportation while you get to eat, drink, and laze about to your heart’s content. The upgraded dining experiences and spa treatments definitely make it feel like a honeymoon.

We went to disneyland for three day and it was so much fun!! Since you’re in Orlando maybe you could do a disney world honeymoon?? Disney treated us like royalty and I highly recommend it!!

@primepretty: Thanks.

$ 3 K is a good sized budget for the Continental US & Canada… airfare will take a good sized chunk tho if you end up flying somewhere

Lol, if you BOTH like Parks & Waterfalls… you might want to consider Niagara Falls (still the Honeymoon Capital of North America)

OR if you are in a Westerly mood…

Yellowstone – Glacier National Park USA / Waterton Lakes National Park (Canada) – or any of many Parks in The Canadian Rockies

Hope this helps,

@primepretty:  BF and I, despite the fact that we can’t even get engaged for a long while, have decided that we want to go camping for our honeymoon.  I don’t know how outdoorsy you are, but we’re pretty outdoorsy.  It even gives us an excuse to register for some camping equipment.

To mix it up you could spend maybe 3 nights in one location and 3 in another, so you don’t get bored of 1 type of scenery.

If you don’t want to buy a lot of camping equipment, you can rent a ton of stuff.

You live in Florida, so maybe a week in a cheaper hotel around the Keys?  I’ve never been there, so I have no idea if that’s at all feasible, but I would assume that there’s places to stay that fit several budgets.  We’ve discovered that it’s ALWAYS cheaper to get a condo and make all your own food rather than eat out every meal.

@primepretty:  I get really bad motion sickness too but on the bigger and newer ships I don’t feel it at all.  And I get sick on everything, buses, trains, cars, airplanes, everything makes me motion sick.  But the 7+ day cruises don’t bother me at all; I don’t even have to take motion sickness pills or anything.

But my alternative for a $3K trip from Orlando I recommend checking out where Allegiant flies to out of the Sanford-Orlando airport.  You could fly up to Chattanooga or Asheville and rent a car to explore the mountains. Or Bangor, Maine, to see Acadia National Park.

We’re probably doing a mini-moon to Las Vegas in late January when the prices drop before Valentine’s Day.

My FI and I are not planning a large and fancy honeymoon (budget budget budget) We are thinking perhaps a bed and breakfast? Doesn’t break the bank, and can be romantic and fun in a new city!!
