For his stocking, I always get SO his favorite chocolate and candy as well as a bottle of his favorite beer and a bottle of Dr. Pepper (his favorite soda that he rarely allows himself to drink). I also added a couple packages of some yummy Boy Scout popcorn I had ordered (SO was an Eagle Scout in high school). And I stuck in one of those scalp massager things (it was $3) he has been wanting and a giant Star Wars eraser ($1) just for fun, since he is a Star Wars fan. I don’t spend much on his stocking since I got him quite a few other gifts, and usually just get fun, goofy things.

Oranges, apples and popcorn balls take up lots of room. So does cans of shaving cream or body lotion. Add some chapsticks and some candy and you’re done!

For our stockings we usually do things that we need-socks, rolled up undershirts, and candy. ANd then for the kids put more put, but still cheap items in. Stokcings can really add up quick!

Mini bottles of liquor, candy, pack of cards/card games, toothbrush, gum, razors… DH and I do stockings every year and these are my “filler” items.

I would try candy, gum, lotion, chapstick, cheap things like that! Target has a section full of stocking stuffer ideas, or I would try the dollar tree!

@totheislnds:  We do the dollar store also! I’ll get him little knock off bottles of his fave cologne there, cocoa packs, etc and it doesn’t break the bank.

Shaving cream & candy is taking up the most room in DH’s stocking. I also added summer sausage, socks, mini liquor bottles & a shower mirror (dollar tree).

We do stockings and presents, so stockings are usually small things he needs (underwear, socks, toiletries like things for shaving, deoderant, chapstick) and fun/silly things – a bottle of something he likes to drink (but I’d go with beer if you want something cheaper), candy/snacks, silly books, weird stationary items (last year I got him mustache-shaped erasers).

You can get bags of Starbucks coffee, like in hotel room size, in some grocery stores.  I bought some of his favorite gum, his favorite photo of me from the wedding framed, a box of his favorite granola bars that he rarely buys, candy bars, a letter from me, a CD of songs that are unique and special to us, etc.
