Have you looked at The Gables in Chadds Ford? I remember a friend mentioned their price per person is reasonable (under $50) when I first started looking for a venue. I ended up finding mine on partyspace.com which helped me narrow venues down among a million choices. haha. Here’s a link for The Gables: http://partyspace.com/philadelphia/chester-county-weddings/unique/the-gables-at-chadds-ford/

Congrats! 🙂

@thefuturemrsD:  I’m doing some research too and find some cheap options right over the bridge in South NJ. Their’s the Camden County Boathouse which has an option of caterers in your price range and also Lakeside Manor with McFadden Caterers in Gibbsboro I believe.

@sharky:  What time of the year and day of the week did you get that price? Also, are you allowed to bring your own alcohol? Thanks!

@PinkPanda:  Hi! We visited the Boathouse last weekend. Not impressed. Lots of boaters hanging around out back.

Me: So…will they be gone around for a wedding ceremony?

Guy: Er…well, we usually tell them about 5PM. They usually clear out by then.

Me: Okay.

Inner me: WHAT.

@PinkPanda:  our wedding is in sept and we booked it last aug i believe or it may have been september. and yes if you want to have alcohol at your wedding you have to supply it yourself. They have package deals with the joe canal’s liquor store also if you need enough for it to practically be considered an ‘open bar’

I was going to go with Lucien’s Manor but wasn’t happy with the reviews and it was a little too much. We found Brigalias and fell in love immediately! It is gorgeous and the prices are very reasonable!

It includes your cake, champenge toasts, all centerpieces, table numbers, etc. they have a huge room of decor you can use. I’ll probablySebring in some of my own, but a great deal!

They don’t advertise because they like to keep it an intimate word of mouth wedding venue. Its in Sicklerville on Williamstown Rd

I wouldnt call this place ‘cheap’ but take a look at the Aldie Mansion in Doylestown:

Im getting married here in June and am paying about $100 per person but were doing a sit down dinner with all the bells & whistles.  Budget is flexible- lots of options to help keep the cost down.  You could do a buffet, or a stations set up:  And you bring your own alcohol.  The price is lower in winter months, and you get a discount for Friday or Sunday.  The cost includes EVERYTHING from servers to ceremony chairs.  I noticed in my venue hunting that most places have hidden costs that sneak up on you! Aldie has an open houses every week too: no appointment necessary.  http://partyspace.com/provider/detail/765

Check out the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.  I got married there last September and the caterers worked with my budget, and it’s gorgeous!

We’re getting married in Dorrance Hamilton Hall at The University of the Arts, which is $3,800. I couldn’t find any other non-ballroom venues in the city for that cheap. They recommend using 12th Street Catering, who are pricey, but you don’t HAVE to use them.

I photographed a wedding at Tomasello Winery and I vaguely remember the bride commenting that the per-person price was in the $60 range. I’m not sure how accurate my memory is, but it may be worth checking out!
