I’m trying to figure out the cheapest way to make our tables look nice…
I have green cloth napkins now thanks to a very kind bee who sent them to me!! =D I have pretty bare centerpieces and a few colored leaves and gems to put around them on the table…
I figured either white table clothes with (maybe) green runners or green overlays… If I get overlays could I get away with plastic white table clothes underneath? Or should I just use the white table clothes and not worry about how plain it looks? I can’t afford anything period at this point so the cheapest yet most elegant solution is what I’m looking for.
Heres the centerpieces (the tables will have cloth napkins but no place settings)

Honestly I would just stick with the white table cloths and throw a green floralyte in the vase. That will cast a green glow over everything for a lot less money than overlays. 🙂

I bought enough fabric for 16 table runners for only $50. If you or someone you know is handy with a sewing machine, I think that is a good way to make things more formal.

I would not go plastic no matter what. I think runners would be nice but if they’re out of budget plain white tablecloths are not the end of the world.

IMO I think candles always add some elegance to the look. I’ve seen some pretty cheap votives at places like Target & Wal-Mart.

Go to Dollar Tree and get some candles, and use white table cloths, no plastic

I can’t use real candles and I think the fake ones look pretty bad setting out in the opened… if they were hidden I’d be okay with them but that would cost even more… I have enough now to put one down in each centerpiece.

I like the floralyte idea. It’d be cheap and have a large impact.

Do something fun with the napkins! I spent an entire night folding all of our napkins into these cute little bows with ribbon. I think it made a huge impact. See if your venue will let you steal their napkins the night before so you can do somthing fun. Plus, it’s free!
