Defnitely checking it out! Thank you!

Are the edges finished or do they need hemming?

P.S. Love the purple with the burlap!

I did that (although I think I bought the roll of burlap from somewhere else). I left the edges raw myself.

I never realized burlap was such a hit until I started planning my wedding.  Thank you!

@Rouquine:  Me too! I thought I was all cool and original. 10 years ago I wanted to make my prom dress out of burlap, like a full on ball gown and when people would ask what I was wearing to prom I’d say “a burlap sack” it was too much work so I didn’t do it, but still. Now I thought I was still cool but I’m doing what everyone else seems to be doing. >.<

Thanks for the tip. Does it smell, is it super scratchy? Just bought a few yards at the store to try it out and it’s super scratchy and smells funny. 🙁

@NicoleMatt100111:  I think burlap is pretty darn scratchy unless you buy upholstery grade ($$$) but the smell fades when you air it out, can’t wash it though unless it’s the afore mentioned super high grade kind.

@lionskitty:  Hahaha.  Seriously.  I’ve always loved the antique/vintage look my entire life, but I guess it’s the in thing these days.  I can dig.

Here’s a source I found for 12″ wide burlap on a 100 yard roll – http://www.gemplers.com/product/WEB186073/Burlap-Rolls-Plain

Just under $55 after tax and shipping for one roll 🙂 They have it in a lesser fabric weight for less money as well as a larger quantity option.

I just ordered from the site the OP posted and it’s awesome. It was right around $85 with taxes and shipping and it came pretty quick. Nice quality too! Now I just need to start cutting runners!

@JOANRR14:  ooooh that’s awesome! If I needed any more I would definitely look into that. I have a feeling 100 yards is going to be more than enough though haha
