@MissyDoll:  I’d say a broken glass vase was the cheapest gift we got because it was absolutely worthless. We tried to exchange it at Macy’s and discovered that it was sold by them five years ago!

I’m an encore bride (2015), but when I got married before many years ago…

Cheap gift was place setting name card frame (2) – you know the little silver colored frames.

Another was just an awful looking gift, huge painting we guessed it might be fruit & veggies in a basket.  It was done by my ex’s friends mother who is blind – he never met her & we didn’t invite  (she lives in anther state) My brother said we should hang it on the largest wall we have (I’m thinking no way in our livingroom) he said the garage wall. It went up on his office wall in back room – it was a kind gesture, but honestly it was ugly!  .

@MissyDoll:  My great aunt who I didn’t even want to invite got us a cheap “crystal” ugly old lady serving platter.  And a friend of mine (that had just gotten married) gave us this REALLY ugly probably regifted gaudy frame.

@MissyDoll:  Two ShamWow Towels in a ziplock bag with “Do not wash in washing machine” written in sharpie on the bag. I just laughed out loud because I didn’t realize how ridiculous it was until I just typed it.

@MissyDoll:  They have been married for 40 years or so, definitely not. Either they were given it and broke it and didn’t want it or they are just plain crazy. Either way we showed our appreciation by writing a thank you card and throwing it in the trash.

@Anna10-05-2014:  Oh my goodness you should have seen the cashier’s face at Macys when she told us they hadn’t carried it for about five years. She was so embarassed for us!

@BearyLovely:  That’s a pretty good ‘bad’ gift!!

We got a frame from Kohls that wasn’t our style – went to exchange it and it had a value of $2.97.  Oh well, it’s the thought that counts!

@BearyLovely:  Lol that seems like an alright gift to me. $50 is a lot of money to a lot of people.

@BearyLovely:  uhh id take that!!!

@MissyDoll:  for my first wedding someone gave us -wait for it – the book of mormon. No explanation. No, we were not mormon. Maybe not the cheapest gift but certainly the weirdest!!
