Can you paint them with a diluted grey paint wash, then go over the writing with a blue paint pen? Maybe add some yellow to the flowers.
What about painting the flowers yellow, and the leaves green, then adding some rhinestones to really make them pop?
How many signs do you need? Can you play around on one and try painting?
I like the idea of painting the flowers and leaves. You could even add some ribbon to the handle that matches your colors.
Take them off the stick and paint them in your colors and then frame them in cool funky frames and put them where you please!!
I agree with painting and then framing them.
I agree with painting over the lettering with your colors (or even just black) so they look hand-painted. I also like the idea of hot-gluing flowers or something shiny to them. I love the frame idea too if you could do it cheaply enough. :)

My darling Mother bought me about 10 super cheapo dollar store Wedding signs. It was a total surprise, but she was very pleased with herself for finding them. They're all well and good but everything else at the wedding is home made or touched by me in some way. I was hoping y'all would have some suggestions about how to make them a little more unique and personalized.
Our colors are provincial blue and pale yellow wiht some grey thrown in. I have ribbon and paint, and some fabric. Everything else is a little more ... not plasticy whitey: fabric pennants, wooden frames, lots of real flowers.
Suggestions much appreciated. :)
