6 months to go. . . Time is flying! Just wanted to see how everyone was making out.
picking out invitations, groomsmen attire, andbooking honeymoon flight. Finished pre-cana, bought dress, sent save the dates, hotel blocked, bridesmaid dresses ordered, and dates reserved for shower and bach....
@Waves2: First dress fitting tomorrow :D ! Going to go talk to a florist next week and starting to buy things here and there for decorations. Also making a shot list for my photographer and list of songs for my DJ. I know it is coming up , but I am not getting antsy about getting it all done right now, IDK I guess I am a weirdo bride lol.
Got my dress, honeymoon's booked, save the dates sent, have all the vendors. Working on invitation design/materials, bridesmaid's dresses, gathering centerpiece supplies. Need to do the hotel blocks, thanks for the reminder!
Getting ready to go bridesmaid dress shopping next weekend and we ordered our invitations last week! Woop Woop! lol

Hey girls! I just ordered my invites today...waaaaaayyyyy early, I know, but I wanted to take advantage of a great offer from Papyrus for 20% off that expires soon.
We've booked all our vendors except transportation and cake. My STDs are almost finished and I'm adding all our info to the wedding website that will go live when we mail them. We are behind in blocking hotel rooms, to be done before the website/STD mailing.
The guys are all outfitted and the girls go in a couple of weeks to pick dresses. Oh, and I had a fight with our 9 y.o. flower girl about her dress. Fun, fun :)
The only things left are to finalize the guest list and save all my spare change to pay for this crazy shindig, yikes!
I've got all of the big stuff done (venue, photographer, videographer, Catholic marriage counseling underway, dress, bridesmaids dresses chosen, tuxes contracted), but I'm having trouble finding a DJ! We've had the worst luck, and DJs are so expensive!
Definitely did not mean expensive - I meant important!
I've done all the major stuff. Cake, florist, linens, venue are all booked & deposits start coming out this Friday (eeek). Bdmd's dresses are picked out as well & the readers for our ceremony have been asked.
I've also designed our invites & priced out the materials to DIY them, found our centerpieces, and have a firm idea of what we want for our bands, but that won't start being paid for until May. Whew.
We have venue, officiant, working on pre cana this weekend, caterer, florist, cake, honeymoon booked. Still need to find a DJ. Worked on some decorations too. I feel like I am doing pretty good. Here in the next few weeks I will be doing more with compiling the guest list with addresses and all contact information. Also, I will be designing our wedding invitation as well, since me, my mom and a friend are making invitations.
i feel like im behind!!
We have venue, photographer, videographer, caterer, cake, and FI grandad will be our officiant... Still need DJ and florist and bridesmaid dresses! Also we are a little behind on STD we are taking engagement pictures on the 17th so i will send them out the first week of May, a little late but oh well. I am starting to have serious wedding nightmares so im about to kick it in high geer booking some more of my big items to reduce a little anxiety that is obviously staying with me into the nights!!
I've been engaged for a year now, so I did all the major stuff almost a year ago!
E.g Church and Venue hire and dress.
Late last year I finalised dj, video, photographer and limo hire.
I am going to send out my save the dates next month and will be ordering my invites next month. Still finalising decorations and a florist.
Haven't tried my dress on in agesss, can't wait until it comes in so i can accesories with it.
we're all set with our officiant, we have venue, the florist, all table decor, i have my dress & shoes, we have our photog, we have our caterer but are still working on menu, we have the musicians, we decided on our deserts but still need to order them.
still need hair/MUA, DJ, invites (and save the dates, wanted to base them off invites, but we haven't gotten those together yet=( not sure if it will be too late to send them out), we haven't made any honeymoon plans- not sure where we'll be at $$ wise at that point in don't want to get in over our heads, needs guys attire, need our outfits for the traditional ceremony (FILs will be taking care of these though).... and lots of little things that will end up taking up more time than everything we have already done! =)
Chugging right along..lol. Have the venue (that determined our date), dress was ordered last month, about to sign the contract with our photog, save the dates are here and going out soon and DJ is taken care of (our friends are doing it).
Need to find a caterer (for a mexican food buffett, having some issues with that). Need to decide on cake (likely from costco). Flowers will be from costco but I'm nervous since I can't finalize the order until closer to the date. Still need to ask our friend to officiate. Need to find someone for hair/makeup. MOH is still working on her dress. I need to finalize a design for my DIY invites. Have to find shoes for my dress...
Eeeek...so much to do. I guess I've been slacking!

I have done everything but pick out bridesmaid dresses it seems, and thats just cause my girls aren't ready to yet. I also need to actually book the restaurant we are going to after the ceremony/cake/dancing. May try to do that today if we are in the area.
@MaiFuture: lol after i posted that, i wiggled around a bit went "hmm... O_O!!!" ran to the bathroom aaaaaaaand... yeah. just started my period. fml. lol
6 months 13 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have the venue (getting ready and ceremony-reception location, linens, table settings, chef, and servers), menu, dessert, photographer, STDs, invites, my dress/veil/shoes, my wedding band, florist (all flowers and centerpieces), hotel block, our night before and night of reservation, card birdcage, draft ceremony, final guest list, and day after breakfast.
We still need a lot!!!!!
April- get address list, mail STDs, confirm our officiant, start registry, order Mr. LK's wedding band, buy a house
May- MOH dress, rehersal dinner, engagement photos, order "guestbook" drawing, move into our new house
June- tuxes, favors, attendant and parent gifts, confirm ceremony readers
July- my accessories, ceremony rug, ring book, book photo frames, bell chime
August- menu cards, ceremony programs, finalize ceremony text, handfasting cloth/ribbon, container for programs, select wine and beer pairings for each courses, mail invitations
September- place cards, handwritten note for each guest, finalize IPod playlist
October- stay sane, get married, begin "Happily Ever After"
all the big stuff is taken care of and we are focusing on details and decor right now. we do need to schedule a cake tasting soon!
i am working on envelope liners for our response cards and invites today.
oh, and i am currently going through a lot of dress doubt...yikes!
So far I've gotten a dress and we've picked the beach we want to get married on and started shopping for my wedding bands.

On the done list so far: Venue, caterer, officiant, photographer, ceremony musicians, invites (designed - need to be printed), programs (again, designed - need to be printed), my shoes, my dress, centerpieces, linens, bridal party attire, hotel blocks, readings, OOT pamphlet, guest book, drink list
To be done yet: Secure florist, choose bridal party gifts, my accessories, his outfit, song selections, seating plan, order candy for buffet, make final decision on cake, signage... And probably two dozen other things I can't think of at the moment!
I'm feeling pretty good about things so far - we'll see how much longer it takes before panic sets in!
I think we're doing pretty well so far with the planning process since we aren't having a big wedding, plus we just got engaged last month. We got our wedding booked for October 13th in Las Vegas which includes photography/flowers/minister and a limo, I have my hair & makeup appointment booked in Las Vegas, I just got my dress/a headpiece/and a bracelet, and we've been looking at locations for the reception when we return home (which is what I'm mostly concerned with right now since it's only 6 months away, but gotta wait on my FMIL since she's throwing the reception for us).
I still need to get shoes and a corset bra, my dress needs alterations, my fiance needs to get his suit and shoes, We need to book our trip to Las Vegas (hotel/airfare), the invitations for the shower and reception need to be done, and everything has to be done for the reception still (including find a wedding cake and dj).
Everytime I read these threads I feel so behind lol.
I still need: e-pics (we are doing ourselves and waiting for better weather), bouquets, cake, hair/makeup for day of, hotel block, and men attire
So we aren't TOO behind.
Whenever I feel like we are making some headway, I find out we are behind. A few things that should have been done months ago, but haven’t been…

I was trying to fall asleep a few nights ago when I suddenly thought, "The wedding's six months away! THAT'S THREE MONTHS PLUS THREE MONTHS!" Naturally, panic kept me up until 2 a.m.

EXACTLY 6 months for FI and I today!!!
I am freaking outttttttttttt!
Here's what we've done so far:
-Booked venue, caterer, florist, DJ, ceremony musician
-Booked the honeymoon
-Mailed Save-the-Dates (back in January)
-Purchased and ordered my dress
And probably a few other small things I'm forgetting. We had booked a photographer but are now searching for a new one and hope to book within a week or so!
Things I plan to accomplish in April:
-Decide on bridesmaid dresses
-Set up our registries
-Maybe do a hair tryout?
Finally, my first post.........I am on here daily and have read so much from so many of you, I decided it was time.
Like most of you, I have all of the big details done (including my dress - although nobody knows, as I found it quite by accident - not even sure how to tell my MOH - she was so looking forward to dress shopping) addressing our STD's right now - I did the DIY luggage tags I found on this site, added a starfish charm - they are awesome. As some have said, DIY's can sometimes cost more (this one did) but I love them. I am not having a DW, but all of my guests will be traveling TO us.......I think they'll love them - will also have our website info.
Plan on shopping for MOH and BM dresses in two weeks....should be fun. I have my ideas, my MOH actually provided it - I have read how colors look so different in person - guess I'll see....am excited to go though - it will cement my color choices.
I have been thru numerous wedding sites and have saved most of my decor ideas and assume I will start tackling them soon - now that I have posted I will post more.
p.s. I never dream or have nightmares - and twice have had wedding dreams (past two weeks) - not nightmares, more on the funny side - but make me feel as though I am a little far behind.......

@ms_nickie: Oh my gosh, I love it down here and am thrilled we are having our wedding here. We both moved down from Ohio almost 4 years ago - when we first became engaged, 01/02/2011 - I thought for one second I had to go back to OH for my wedding and then realized I have always wanted my wedding on the beach - most everyone acts as though they will be coming here.............
Where does your family live?
We got so lucky as far as venue - we are having it at the Grand Seas Resort, two hotels down from Daytona Beach Shores (they were booked:( but I am glad they were. Our venue is very, very reasonable. We also got great room rates - so it will be like a destination wedding - everyone will stay there and the ceremony will be on the beach and the reception on their very large pool deck!! Thanks so much for asking...
Let's see... we still need an officiant. I'm trying not to panic about that. In Mass, we can get one time permission to have anyone marry us, just can't figure out who. The main candidate has been FI's father, since he's an ordained minister but he'll want to at least throw a few bible quotes into the ceremony and we were hoping to keep it secular so we're still undecided.
FI also needs to get the tuxes picked out and we need to order our invitations. My florist is picked and saving the date for me (coworker) but we won't be discussing details for another couple of months.
What we have done: venue booked for ceremony and reception (catering included since it's a restaurant), photographer booked, DJ booked, my dress purchased, BM dresses ordered, hair & makeup appointment made, Save the Dates mailed and I've been buying items to decorate and do some DIY projects little by little.
We have: church, officiant, reception venue (half paid for!), dj, photographer on stand-by (first choice one seems to have flaked out), both of our outfits, chose bridesmaids dresses (now if only they would go get them already!), wedding rings, and two gift registeries started...we are not doing flowers at all. My Mom is my primary decorator so she's buying all the centerpiece setups which I will go check on soon (she's about 2 hours away). We try out our caterer/baker next Thursday and pay them if we like it (which I'm almost certain we will!) So...all in all I'm feeling pretty good abou all that. I think we are nixing a honeymoon in favor of saving for a down payment on a house. I'm ordering save-the-dates and calling our officiant to make appointments with him today. Hooray!

What we have done/booked: church, officiant, reception site, wedding planner, photographer, caterer, cake (although the design needs tweaking), DJ, dress, all but one BM dress ordered, my wedding band, shoes, most jewelry, engagement session, STD and invites chosen but are waiting for e-session photos to order them, hair/make-up appointments set.
What we need to do: ring for FI, everything and anything that has to do with GM (FI hasn't even asked one of them yet...lazy bones), flowers, decor...basically all the little details, outline of ceremony, picking out important songs, plus a lot of other things I know I am forgetting right now. Thank goodness we still have 6 months left!
@elliestan: how did they go!?!? I'm working out to take mine in the summer :)
