This morning, I posted on the Weddingbee blog about all of my china getting discontinued by Macy's, despite the manufacturer still producing the pattern. Six people commented that their patterns were discontinued as well. One didn't even realize it until she read the post and checked her registry.
It seemed unusual that so many others had their patterns discontinued and I started thinking that there might be others in the same boat, but they just don't know it yet. While we get emails about Macy's sales, they did not email about discontinuing my pattern.
Just a heads up that you might want to check your Macy's registries.
FWIW, my pattern is not an old one (debuted in 2007) and is very popular. I called Waterford and they said that they were increasing production of my pattern for next year because it was so popular. They also discontinued carrying my flatware, which is also new.
