I went to check out my first venue today, and loved it! My fiance and I love the outdoors, and I’d look our venue to be somewhat unique and special to us. There is a local mountain where the two of us frequently hike during the summer, and its actually where he took me to propose a few weeks ago, so it was the obviously place to start.
The location has been a bit of a dream for me for awhile, but I always assumed it would be way too expensive, as you have to take a gondola to get to it (unless you hike like us!!), and it normally costs $50/person to take the gondola. Turns out the gondola is included in the cost of food, and food really isn’t any more expensive then any of the other options I priced out! So, its looking like it might be the perfect place! My only SLIGHT concern is that I don’t want the wedding to be too rustic, but rather elegant/formal. However, with living on the west coast things are always going to be a little more casual.
My parents came with me, and I kinda realized how excited I was to show my family WHY my fiance and I drag ourselves up to the top of mountains. It will be nice for the wedding guests to hopefully understand as well!

That sounds like a beautiful place for a wedding and perfect with all the personal meaning. Do you have any pictures?

Here are a few random pics, the uploading was giving me trouble, so i’ll try links:
View from the base of another mountain we’ve climbed in the summer:
Evening view from the Gondola (the night he proposed!)
City lights in the background:
Some pics from last May:
The room itself is pretty simple, but it has a ton of nice windows and an amazing wrap around deck with a view. the gondola ticket to the top includes all kinds of free stuff that guests could do beforehand if they wanted!

It sounds amazing – – I here ya on the not wanting your wedding being too rustic. FH and I are both from CA and our families are more formal than we are, hence we live in Seattle. Our venue is an all wood beams exposed high cealings kind of barn’ish feeling yet we’re having a formal event on Halloween – – you will make yours work, I know it
EDIT = omg is this in Vancouver???
