i just completed w6d3 today and am super stoked by my achievement. i can't believe that just a couple of months ago i was not running at all [and hated it] and now i'm up to 25 minutes straight and am definitely in love. it just boggles my mind. i recently bought a nike sportband to help track my mileage and caloric burn and i love my new little toy. i'm hoping to get in shape enough to run in a 5k next month. eee!

i know there are quite a few of you who are also on this trek so i wanted give y'all a place to update each other on your progress. please share your success stories!

I finished W4D3 last night, moving onto W5D1 tomorrow! The last 5 minute run every night was a little tough but I felt so amazing once I was done. I should be done with the program in the middle of June, which is great, because in September I have a half marathon to run/walk!!

Great job completing W6!! Only 3 more weeks to go :D

conngrats babyboo! when i ran my first series of 5 minute runs, i actually high fived myself when i was done. i'm hoping i'll be set to participate in a 5k next month. eek! but i should be done in time to at least have some time for some free runs before the event.

Congrats on finishing the first week adrigirl! I started M/W/F but realized the two day breaks were a little much and it was hard for me to get started again. Now I just run every other day, weekends included.

I hate running too, but that makes this program so much more rewarding for me :D

Ok, I was looking for motivation and here it is! Thank you! I use to run 4 days a wk for about 2 yrs then right after we got married last summer life went absolutely crazy and I stopped running and working out all togethor and hence gained about 8-10 lbs. I feel like crap. I've been trying this for about a mth now but either get frustrated, depressed, or just sick or exhausted and then have to start w1 all over. So starting next wk Tues-Thurs-Sat are run days no matter what and I will follow this program to get back to what I love to do, running!

@songtokwok, if you have the time, it's great! i love the mind-clearing effect jogging has for me. especially when i'm able to jog outside. it's wonderful.

I finished W5D1 today and it went FABULOUS!! We left the dogs at home (one is in obedience training so he can't come, we just decided to leave the other at home) and just went for it. By the last 5 minute interval we were still at a 6 mph pace, and we live by the beach so there were hills to go up!!

Can I just say I am super excited for Tuesday's run?? Laughing

just finished up week seven today!  I still can't believe I am running 2.5 miles straight (it's taking me a little longer than 25 minutes though).  This program is amazing!  Anyone thinking about doing it, you so should!  If I can do it, you can too!

I tried to go into w5d3 today after about 3 weeks of being stuck on w5d2 (to be fair, I was down and out about 3 weeks in april due to the swine flu) but my body just didn't make more than 10 minutes.  I switched back to w5d3 podcast and finished up with a 5 min walk and another 8min jog.  I don't think my heart rate got over 143 the entire time.

@ldyparadox: good job for still sticking with it, even if you had to modify the program a little! I do W5D3 tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it goes for me.

thanks guys!  I start week 8 today, I'm going to try to run it outside so hopefully the rain holds off for a little bit!  I still can't get over how well this program works!  My fiance and I are going to start the 100 pushup challenge tonight, hopefully its as much fun as this!  Did I just say running was fun?!

tea, I was thinking about getting one of those nike sportsbands too, so you like yours?  it works?  Do I need to get special shoes that you can put the little chip thingie in or does it work on its own? thanks!

@ldparadox99, no worries. i stayed on w4 and w5 for a few weeks since i didn't get a chance to consistenly run because of some family issues that came up. just ease back into it when you can!

@stephiemarie, yeah i LOVE it! i already have a pair of nike plus running shoes that i use with it but a friend of mine says she uses a little pouch like this: http://amzn.to/dv2TC1 on her shoe was good results.

i have no other way of tracking my mileage so this was a big motivating factor for purchase. it tracks mileage, calories burned, how long you jog, and even tells time. it hooks into your computer and uploads your runs to your profile on the nike running site. i was just playing around with it the other day and created a couple of fitness goals to achieve. i highly recommend it!

thanks tea! esp for the amazon link, I really didn't want to have to buy a new pair of shoes too, 'cause I finally found a pair that I love.  I am totally buying this, thanks for the advice!  I've been tracking my runs on sparkpeople, but I'm thinking this will be more accurate.

I finished my first 20 minute run tonight (W5D3)!! We ran 2.1 miles and averaged about 6.2 mph :D We ran from my house to the beach, although didn't make it quite to the ocean because the light wouldn't change fast enough.

I felt nauseous by the end of it (but I wasn't feeling well before before the run) but was so excited to have finished!

Hope all your running plans are going well!!

I love C25K! I finished it in January and ran a 5K, then had to take some time off due to illness...so I recently restarted it. Currently on Week 4, Day 3. I think when I finish this time I may start an 8 or 10k program to try to stay motivated.

Some of you may already use this, but for those who don't know about it there is a great app that times you and tells you when to run and walk. Just search couch to 5k on itunes.

Keep up the hard work everyone!

@ivegotsunshine: I use that app! The same guy makes a program called "Bridge to 10K" that you can use after you finish this round of C25K :D
