We are having a destination wedding. Instead of a rehearsal dinner I am working with our venue to have a (cost effective) welcome reception for about 60 guests. We are going to have sangria and she suggested a cheese of the worlds stations. I'm thinking a cheese station and a miniature desserts station. Would that be weird all together sangria, cheese and dessert? or a way to appeal to everyone and offer more than just cheese?  If we went with just one: cheese or dessert, which would you pick? THANKS!

Wine cheese and desserts that go with wine are quite popular.  I think you should go for it.

I think this is a great idea!!

If you went with just one, I'd say cheese.

Oh, sounds yummy!  I'd pick cheese -- be different, and your guests will really remember your unique wedding!

i think all 3 go well together. how about cheese, fruit and wine? not sure what your location is but if it's a tropical one, there might be fruits that are not typically found elsewhere that could make it really unique.

I definitely love all three, and I think sangria, cheese and dessert would go together really well! If you are picking just one food item, I think it depends on whether you are having cake. If you're having cake, too, definitely go with cheese! If not, then it's a harder decision ...

    Good luck!

Those 3 sound great! I would also try to throw in fruit if it doesn't bump up the cost too much. But those are awesome choices, I love to snack. It will also be a good way for all your guests to mingle!

That sounds really good, actually! Many upscale restaurants offer a cheese dessert menu, so it all goes together very well.

My only suggestion would be to look into adding fruits to the mix. Cheeses (especially the dessert variety) tend to be pretty heavy and creamy so some light fruits would be refreshing and nice to have as well.

But I think this plan is definitely more than okay. It sounds like fun!
