What do you guys think about a cheesecake wedding cake? I came across this site:

     www.elegantcheesecakes.com

While the cakes on there are way pricey, I was inspired by the general idea of using cheesecake! It kind of solves my fondant dilemma (love the look but don't like the taste, personally,) because really, cheesecake doesn't need frosting anyways so it won't make a bit of difference if people don't eat it. I think they can do all kinds of different flavors for cheesecake too.

    Hmmm.....

I've never met anyone who doesn't like cheesecake.  Mmmm decadence.

Well, I just finished making a cheesecake for mother's day, so I might be biased, but I think cheesecake is a GREAT idea!

What's what we are doing!  We aren't really "cake" people, but we are definitely "cheese cake" people!  I think people will love it!

I've been to wedding with cheesecake! They had it decorated so cute with strawberries and icing, I didn't even know at first that it was cheesecake. AND it was delicious.

Also love cheesecake.  When are you getting married. Someone... the venue I think... said cheesecake can be a problem in warmer months...  But if you want it, you can figure something out, I'm sure.

Wait a second, I just thought about it...one of the layers in my cake was cheesecake!  Everyone loved it so much that someone came and snatched up my cake after it all got eaten up!

I LOVE cheesecake. Seriously, Love. We are hoping we can coordinate that into our desserts.

A wedding at the Cheesecake Factory?! So, basically you are getting married in heaven? That's fantastic!

My fiance and I love cheesecake- cake, not so much but cheesecake?  YES PLEASE!  We are having a cheesecake bar at our dinner reception.  It will probably be plain cheesecake with a variety of toppings, but we discussed having some flavored cheesecake as well. I'm very much in favor of serving cheesecake instead of/in addition to traditional cake!

Yay! I think I'm going to do it. I may alternate cheesecake with regular cake so there are two options if need be. And...uh...getting married at the Cheesecake Factory? What?! They will let you do that?! If only there were one in my town!

Cheesecake is an absolutely fabulous idea! Especially when you can get multiple cheesecakes in different flavors to satisfy the different palettes!

Too bad I am lactose intolerant or I would have cheesecake more often...

Just a note on serving cheesecake for your weddings, Make sure they are kept someplace very cool, otherwise the longer they set out the harder it is to cut the pieces to give to guests.  Speaking from personal experience.  My friend and her husband served cheesecake instead of traditional cake and I had to serve it with another one of our friends and it was the biggest pain in the rear.  Kept sticking to the knife and didn't come out looking so smooth afterwards.  Just have plenty of cool air around and it should be fine.  Taste was delicious though.  Just a thought!!!  Good luck!!

I love cheese cake. If I were at your reception...Id probably hide with it. LOL I love it.

I think it's a good idea. But I agree with stormy9973 about keeping it cool.

That's what we're doing.  And actually mom and I are doing it ourselves, they are soooo easy to make!!  We are doing 3 round cakes like traditional to decorate and have the cake topper and all that and then we are doing sheet cakes to cut up and serve.  We are also having bowls of different toppings so people can choose what they like.  I'm so looking forward to it!!

I thought I was all smart to have a cheesecake bar, but I've found several girls on here (including a bee--Mrs. Lemonade) who already is ahead of me! HAHA Oh well, but I'm trying to figure out how to decorate them but not with icing too. Don't want too sweet on the outside!

    Great idea :)

We're actually serving cheesecake at our wedding! We got a small-ish wedding cake that will serve 50 just because any quote we got for a cheesecake wedding cake was really expensive (a lot more than a regular cake). Then we're serving cheesecakes, too, which will be cut in the kitchen and served to guests. Our venue will provide them for us, and it ended up being pretty inexpensive ($1 per head!). Our wedding cake will feed 50 people, so we're offering it as an option, but once it's gone, it's gone (we're expecting about 90 people to come and got enough cheesecake for everyone).

We're having cheesecake too! It is by far one of, if not is, our favorite desserts! We're doing chocolate chip and plain with fruit and sauces to go on top! This is actually my favorite part of the wedding day (besides actually marrying my guy)!

    I LOVE dessert!

I LOVE cheesecake and it has a special meaning to my mom and I. I don't know if I will have a wedding cake and if I do, if it'll be cheesecake. It might just be worth the extra expense. It's something I never thought of but I will definitely look into it!

We're having a small 'wedding cake' to cut, but we'll have several kinds of cheesecakes as well. My godfather/uncle loves making them and even has a stand he got for another wedding he made them for, so he'll be doing all of it. I think he may even make some mini ones. :) We'll probably have a couple sheet cakes that are cut in the kitchen as well since we'll have 250-300 guests and that provides an option for people who don't like cheesecake (crazies!)
