Wow, so I have read online (which you have to take with a grain of salt since they don't know squat) is reporting her wedding is close to 3 million dollars.  Holy freakin' crap!  But I just read this article and I do feel bad for the girl: http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/sex/will-chelsea-clintons-wedding-ruin-mine-a-bridal-nightmare-2077400/

It will be bad with the amount of people flocking to/from the Clinton wedding but if the President does show up, goodness, her guests will never get anywhere!

I saw that on the news! That poor woman. She had a good attitude, though: "come hell or high water, we're getting married!" Hopefully the security issues surrounding the Clinton wedding don't make this other woman's wedding impossible to attend

I read the article and initially felt like she was trying to get her 15 minutes of fame.  But then I put myself in her shoes and realized. . .I'd probably have the same concerns.  Hopefully this wedding is a shame to throw off the media and there's another one planned in a location that won't affect anyone else.

EJS: Yeah she did!  It's too bad that no one will tell her one way or the other if the wedding is happening there or just a "cover"....totally stinks.

The girl does have a good attitude about it, I don't know many brides who would. I would probably be upset.

Oh, and they already said on the news. Obama was not invited and is not coming- the reason stated is that it would cause enormous security problems and the cost of adding additional security to deal with it would be insane.

actually i first heard about the "other bride" on the wendy williams show - and apparently she wont talk to most media about it - they had called her to even offer to send her on a honeymoon if she came on the show - she hung up on them

so i doubt shes looking for her 15 mins. i would be PIIIIIISSED if there was a high profile weddign in the small town i had been planning my wedding. can you imagine. there cant be but so many vendors and whatnot. *sigh*

poor girl. but makes for an intersting anniversary story.

you would think the clintons would get the "other bride" a nice gift or something! lol

@Monkeygirl:  You'd think they'd still "invite" the Obamas but know they'd not come due to the SS hell it would take to pull that one off.  Wonder if there's still bitterness from Clinton about losing to Obama?  Oh well.

@spaganya:   :o She hung up on them?  I bet the girl would be pleased as punch if she knew that her guests could just have no issues getting from Point A to Point B.  Hell, the amount of money spent on the wedding by the Clintons, I would think they'd be nice enough to help another bride due to their small town invasion.  But then we're talking about the Clintons ::ahem:: so, probably not ;)  I just hope the best for the gal and her FI.

@Curly, yeah I know I thought about that too. But apparently the Obamas said they understand, are not offended, and wish her well.

Regardless, I am totally stoked about Chelsea's wedding. I remember when her Dad first took office, everyone in the media- grown ADULTS- were so, SO cruel to that girl- saying mean spirited things about her looks, etc. She was a CHILD for crying out loud! So I am happy for her and the strong, intelligent woman she has grown up to be. I am happy it's finally her time in the sun and I hope her wedding is all she dreamed it would be. :)

@Curlysue:  Did you hear Colbert's joke about the "resentment" factor?  Obama is campaigning to be elected as Mother of the Bride.  I LOLed.

I am not surprised that it's a multi-million dollar wedding.  First Daughter's weddings are pretty lavish.  The Bush daughter's was low-key and the media made a big deal about how against the grain that was, comparatively speaking.

I feel for the other bride, but I think it's kind of a cool story.  It will certainly be a memorable day.

That sucks.  If I were her, I would seriously contact the local police and find out more about road closures, etc so she could inform her guests, etc.  Yikes!

I SO doubt that her wedding will be $3 million.  The Clintons know a lot of people... and for many, many wedding pros, saying that you did Chelsea Clinton's wedding and having your work splashed all over the media is worth its weight in gold.  I'll bet that they are getting A LOT of stuff for free or at heavily discounted prices...

I read an article about how its been confirmed they have three caterers, one for the cocktail hour, one for dinner and one for late night snacks. Each would reasonably charge well over $100 per head to come out to the remote location and have to work alongside two other caterers... so that's like $400/person, and there will be AT LEAST 300 people, if not many more... so that's $120,000+ for food alone!

Having said that, on another thread about Chelsea's wedding, I said these two things: 1) Her parents are really, really rich. Proportional to their income/net worth, a $3 million wedding probably costs them the same if not less than my $30,000 wedding cost my parents. 2) I bet over half of that is going to security and travel arrangements for all their high profile guests. Private security on that scale for a whole weekend is very expensive.
