When you find out, you can let me know too! If I don't find anything though, I will probably just get the white folding chairs. Those chiavari chairs are WAY out of my budget. Wedding planning can be so frustrating! I'll let you know if I find anything out.
I wanted the chiavari chairs, but for an extra $7 a person it just wasn't worth the money. I just used the regular chairs that came with the venue, which turned out nicely even without the chair covers!
Honestly, I went to a wedding a few weeks ago and the only ones who noticed the chair were me (because I read WB), my cousin's wife (b/c she was going to rent them for hers but couldn't justify the $10--she spent more on food instead), and my cousin (who knew because her sister-in-law was the one who couldn't justify the price). Of course what was more interesting was that these chairs were plastic and not even wood!
I agree with you 100%; it would be lovely to find something other than chair covers or chiavaris for the reception! I haven't found it yet, either, but I'll def. be watching this thread!
We're having dinner outside and using folding white wood padded chairs.
No one even noticed my seats either on the day of the wedding and thought everything looked beautiful. I would put more money into the flowers instead.

Okay so these darn chairs.. is there ANY alternative to a nice "upgrade" chair rental besides those overdone chiavari chairs? They are lovely and all, and I say this with absolutely no offense to anyone who has used them or plans to use them, but they. are. everywhere. Honestly, I'm sick to death of them. Has anyone discovered out there a nice chair that's not your standard white "folding chair" but isn't a chiavari chair in every color under the sun AND isn't going to cost me my first born to rent? Perhaps it doesn't exist.
Thanks. And does anyone else feel this way??? I'm curious. Maybe it's just me.
