I'm trying to book a photographer for my June wedding. Can you please let me know who you are using? If you're already married, I would love it if you could share some of your pictures and experience with your photographer.

I got married in Milwaukee, but know some wedding photographers. Here's a Yelp search for Chicago area photographers. From knowing some photographers, I recommend Dan Gin, Peter Coombs, Jeremy Lawson, Victoria Sprung, Robert Sojka. I've had friends use them and had great pictures!

We're using Laura Meyer Photography for our wedding next August. Here's a link to her website:

We absolutely loved her when we met for our consultation. I think it's advantageous to work with a smaller business, because you know exactly who will be shooting your big day. I stood up in a wedding last June, and went to another this July, where the couples opted to go with George Street - the results were absolutely awful. Neither bride wanted to show anyone the photos and both photographers were surly and a nightmare to deal with.

Pictures (along with a wonderful husband!) will be all you have left after the day is over. Make sure whoever you hire has a style that resonates with you. Good luck!

Kevin and his assistant were phenomenal. I can't recommend them enough! Kevin did our engagement shoot in Chicago and I know they shoot weddings here too. I still look at my wedding pictures nearly every day, I love them so much!

My sister and every other bride in our circle has used Ana Miyares. She was voted as Chicago's best photographer by the Knot in 2010. :)

If she is too pricey check out Matt Mason. My friend used him and he does a video/photo montage that is AMAZING and makes me very jealous.

We are using Jeremy Lawson. We just did our e-pics, haven't got the pics back, but he is awesome. We were between him and Carasco and it came down to his photos really capturing the joy and happiness of the day. His work is fun, there is a lot of detail, he also does 'pretty' pictures, and the best part is that he knows our venue inside and out. He and all our other vendors know each other well, so it really feels like a community wedding- everyone's on the same page.
