Try Cocina Fusion. The price is more resonable, but unfortunately, catering in general is quite expensive!

Thats about what i’m paying for about the same # of people, and I feel that compared to other options I saw, I’m getting a pretty good deal for a city wedding.  Thats the quote you are getting inclusive of tables, chairs, plates, service etc, right?

That price does sound about right (as hard as that can be to stomach).  We’re having a plated meal for 200 guests with an open bar, and including staff, rentals, set up, etc. it’s about $20K.

All the quotes I got were less for buffet since it requires less waiters, so I’m surprised that they’re saying plated is more affordable.  I’m sure it depends on the caterer and venue.  One way we found to keep costs down was adjust the bar hours.  For example we could have the bar open during dinner or could shut it down for the hour and have just wine at the table.  Our caterer also gets rentals like linens from a third party, so if we want we can use their person or find our own if it’s cheaper.

vjs32214:  Can I ask who you are using, we were just quoted 19K for nothing special and I almost fainted?
