Thnks for the info, I was looking for draping everywhere in Chicago, received a quote for 5,000 for 3 walls! So i discarded the idea. Might DIY, who knows!

Thank you for sharing!! I had just crossed off Floating World Gallery off my venue list because I thought it was too much for my 15k wedding, but I think I’m going to check it out after all.  I’m worried about DIY, but I really think I need it for this budget in Chicago.

@pl919:  Did you use a salon or hairstylist?

Thanks for the tips. I’m getting a little panicked as my wedding gets closer because I thought I was going to have time for a lot more DIY than I actually do.

Also, Chicago ladies, there are more rental companies that support DIY and a la carte options on http://www.gatheringguide.com/rg/chicago-il. You have to be a little creative but it’s possible to not have to spend a ton of money. Just give yourself enough time!

Thanks for the advice! I am looking for catering (for a sit down dinner) in Chicago and can’t find anything under $7000 for that many people – who did you find to cater within your budget?

@pl919:  I would love to spend 10K. Who did you use for catering/alcohol?

You can PM if you would rather take it offline. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you!

@pl919:  At the Floating world gallery, did you have a dance floor?

@pl919: similar to previous posters @vivalasylvia and @SilverLady I am interested in knowing who you used for catering as that seems to be the biggest expense for me.  Would you mind sharing with all of us? thanks so much!

May I ask what the specific dimensions of your venue space was. I will be using Drape Kings as well and was trying to get an idea of how much I may be looking at for drapery cost.
