@marlew: I'm pretty sure Navy Pier requires a permit but I don't know 100%.
Per their website:
"All requests to take professional photos at Navy Pier are arranged through the Navy Pier Public Relations Office. Please call 312-595-5031."

Hi Chicago Bees - I'm curious to find out if permits are required for taking wedding photos in the downtown core/Millenium Park/Navy Pier?
We got married in October but have friends from Chicago who couldn't make it for medical reasons - we're going to bring our party to them in the spring and I would LOVE to get all dolled up with my DH and take photos in our wedding gear in Chicago because I love it there so much. Hopefully I'll be able to find someone reasonable to work with over there.
