I am looking for suggestions for venues in Chicago, or VERY near suburb, I dont want the traditional hotel, and love some of the loft-like venues, but want to hear about your day of experiences with getting ready.
I want to make a day of it with my bridesmaids and all get our hair/makeup done and all get dressed together. Do any of these venues supply ample room for this?
Thanks for your suggestions!

Most churches have getting ready rooms for brides, if you decide to go that route!

I don’t have any experience looking in Chicago but I found that most venues (lofts, distilleries, etc) who did lots of weddings did have a bridal suite. The only thing you may have to check on is when you would be allowed in. Some times you might have to start getting ready at 9 or 10am but wouldn’t be allowed into the venue until 2pm. You just have to check the rules on an individual basis.

Thanks for your help, looking for any Chicago brides that have used loft-like venues and their opinions on their experiences with the Bridal Suites!

@RosieRo: I am not getting married at a loft space, but I do know that Loft on Lake does have a small dressing room area. I think that Prarie Productions is just an open venue with no area for getting ready.
I am getting married at a restaurant in the North side and I will likely be staying at a hotel and getting ready there.

The only “loft” type space that I found with a bridal suite was Room 1520. Prarie Production has a small “holding” space, but it’s definitely not a room you could get ready in with your bridesmaids. The other venues I checked out besides those two were Gallery 1028, City View Loft, and Floating World Art Gallery.
If you want a loft space, I think your best bet is to get ready at a hotel. As PP mentioned, you might want to check out Loft on Lake – I can’t help you there since I didn’t see it. There is also Bridgeport Art Center.

I didnt end up getting married at Room 1520, but i spent the next months lusting after their bridal suite – it was super pretty. I did end up getting married at Prairie Productions and the room is DEFINITELY not a bridal suite – more like a glorified closet.
Throwing this out there because the definition of “near suburb” varies to all, but Danada House in Wheaton also had a beautiful bridal suite.

Thanks definitely be checking out room 1520!
