Father of the Bride, Runaway Bride and 27 dresses are good weddin-related chick flicks.
Other chick flicks i like are the Bridget Jones movies, The Notebook, Sleepless in Seatle and cheesy straight to video things or Lifetime movies that star C-list celebraties. The cheesier the better!
This is a hard one!! If I HAD to narrow it down, I would say Father of the Bride (popular one, huh?) and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I could watch both over and over and over again...
Hands down, "My Best Friends Wedding". I love Julia Roberts & Cameron Diaz & actually got the idea about a wedding brunch from this movie :)
I LOVE.... LOVE Notting Hill and the BBC mini-series version of Pride and Predjudice. Anything staring Hugh Grant, Colin Firth and Ralph Fines are my guilty pleasures.
A less light hearted movie I love is The Constant Gardener. It is a love story... with a socially conscious message.
I personally love Keira Knightly's version of Pride and Prejudice, the Bridget Jones duo, Love Actually(I also love Colin Firth), Sense and Sensibility(Emma Thompson's version...yes, I love Jane Austen), and a childhood favorite - Princess Bride.
I know, Princess Bride is basically a fairytale, but it's still a love story! :)
"Father of the Bride," "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Prime." (the one with Uma Thurman as a 40ish woman who unknowingly starts dating her therapist's 23-year-old son, LOL)
I'm not really a girly girl; most chick movies and almost all chick-lit books just strike me as goofy. But I have to admit that I want to see the "He's Just Not That Into You" movie, because the cast is so good!
I love the Keira Knightley "Pride and Prejudice" and "Jerry McGuire (is this a chick flick or a sports movie- debate).
Love Actually (one wedding story -so bittersweet!) and 13 Going on 30. I've seen them both a million times. Old school: Pretty in Pink and 16 Candles.
I love Music and Lyrics too. So sweet!
While You Were Sleeping, The Princess Bride, The Devil Wears Prada, Ever After... there are many many more!
One of my favorites has to be The Notebook, read the book, then watched the movie, but love them both!
Legally Blonde makes me happy because Reese Witherspoon is so upbeat in that movie. I also love 27 dresses and Sweet Home Alabama.
This is hard! The ones I could watch over and over again are:
The Notebook, Pride and Prejudice (with Keira Knightley), 50 first dates, Never Been Kissed, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Braveheart (<-- not really chick flick, but best movie EVER!), Legally Blonde (movie AND MTV's Musical!), Ever After, Stardust, Joy Luck Club, A Walk to Remember, and a lot more!
Basically any Drew Barrymore and Mandy Moore movies.
ahh so many movies, so little time! I would say the best wedding flicks are: the wedding date, the runaway bride, 27 dresses, monsoon wedding, love actually, and the wedding singer!
oooh very Crass but hilarious, The Sweetest Thing with Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate and Selma Blair. My all time Fave!
I just saw a screening for He's Just Not That Into You. That movie is so good. It is now my top chick flick. Justin Long is no longer just the Apple Dude to me anymore.
I just watched "Bridge Jones's Diary" on tv the other day and I had forgotten how good it is! I love Mr. Darcy :)
"10 Things I Hate About You", "Kate & Leopold", "You've Got Mail", , "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" (although I think its chick-flick exclusivity is debatable), "Sixteen Candles", "Sleepless in Seattle", "Dirty Dancing" aaaand for some reason, just about anything with John Cusack.
I love all the aforementioned ones, but I can never get enough of Pillow Talk, Funny Face, The Shop Around the Corner and an Affiar to Remember.
This is a lame one but I like Down to You. Oh the good old days when Julia Stiles was ultra pouty and ruling the chickflick market :)
I love the Bridget Jones movies, and also 13 Going on 30! I was watching that movie the other day and my guy walked into the room and said, "I have seen this movie more times than I can count."
True love is watching 13 Going on 30 over and over and over... ![]()
I'm really looking forward to the Shopaholic movie! The books are hillllarious. (Just don't tell my English Master's exam commitee that I said that.)
Father of the Bride, Love Actually, PS I Love You, Moulin Rouge (any musical!), and Fried Green Tomatoes (tawanda!)...
I could really keep going, but I won't!
