I'm considering a low chignon. I have pretty straight hair and I'm wondering how long and well does this style stay put? Trying to decide if it would be okay to have my hair done in the morning for an evening wedding (my wedding is a few hours away from a stylist). For that matter, did anyone have their make up done in the morning for an evening wedding? I'm nervous about doing these things myself but don't know if its a good idea to have it all done too early in the day.

Did anyone use a foam piece or extensions to make the bun or chignon look more full?

Also, I'd love to see any of your pics. And please tell me how your do held up!

I've done a chignon for a ball before, and it stays pretty well, but I've got long, thick hair. Make sure you feel comfortable before you leave the salon--I had extra pins and spray because I knew we'd be dancing. If you can shake your head a little, you should be fine. If you want a hair piece to make it fuller, a chignon or bun would be perfect for that... they'll be tucked in and probably not visible at all.

Below is the picture of my chignon. I had makeup and hair started around 9am. The hair and make up lasted until the end of the wedding. I have straight hair and it wasn't too long at all. There were a lot of pins in my hair, husband was amazed as he kept pulling them out for a while.
