I couldnt do drop waist and I will just save you guys the horrible pictures of me in the drop waist. lol.

I'm very petitie and my dress has that bit of dropped waist bunching in the back and it def helps give shape even to the hipless me! :P
My FI would have loved if I wore a dress like that, but I wasn't brave enough!
I am super happy you posted this bc I bought, complete on impulse, a dress that I thought was beautiful and got a great deal on it and then the first thing my mom AND sister said to me was how , and I quote, "massive" my hips looked =( but you seriously look amazing!!! I dont have the best picture of me in it and sadly I boxed it up to sell it because of those comments, guess I should have turned to the hive first.

You look great. I don't really try any drop waist gowns on because I'm short with a long torso, so Iwould have looked like I had no legs.
I feel like drop waists and other form-fitting styles like mermaid and trumpet gowns look so much more amazing on curvalicious women rather than the stick-straight and pre-pubescantly shaped models.
Work those hips, girlfriend!
Shannon - with all honesty, I think you look divine in that dress. You have a perfect hourglass figure. Don't listen to your family. You rock that dress.

I've been shopping my little heart out - at least we still have time.
I definitely want something with sparkle, and pearls. I can't bring myself to spend $35 on a bracelet for some reason (there are two I want so really $70), plus we are buying the bridesmaids accessories too.
We'll see - I might just have to suck it up since I only get one wedding day!

This site is so amazing! I was wondering what girls that aren't stick thin would look like in a dropped waist dress, and this showed me exactly what I needed to see. It is perfect, and I love it! I am going to have my second child in September (due on the 9th) and I was curious to know if the Kenneth Pool Degas would make me ridiculous. All I can do is try it on, and if I like it I am going for it!

The curves remind me of 40's and 50's hollywood. Thats how Marylin Monroe and those girls looked like. I would go for it. Its a beautiful and sexy look.
I'm getting a twinge of dress envy now! I LOVE clothes that make my hips huge. There's just something about it that makes me feel smokin'.

I too have a dress I bought..on a whim b/c the price was right and thought I pperrhapps could pull it off like the curvy bride that was selling it....but haven't gotten up the nerve to try it on again since my 1st attempt didn't go so well back in mid-January. I realize it's going on 6+ months since then, but like some of you bees...I'm nervous that my family will comment on my 'big butt', 'wide hips', etc. *sigh* Yeah, I have family like that too..err..
Anyway...I hope to be able to get the dress tried on soon..haha...b/c if for any reason it doesn't fit or work on me, I'll have to have time to look elsewhere.

I'm about as hourglass as hourglass can get... my shoulders measure about the same as my hips. I'm totally rocking a tight dress cause I'm proud to have curves =)
