I did not. It's made this whole business of being in a relationship/getting engaged/impending marriage a bit awkward. What do I do? Where do I go?
I have no ideas, no "zomg I neeeed this", nothing. I always made fun of the daydreamers, especially the tween "zomg-when-I-marry-JTT" types...
Maybe the one thing I'd barely given thought to was a dress, I think because it came up in conversation. I'd wanted something trimmed in white rabbit, with kind of a boat neck, but with sleeves. It seemed pretty interesting at the time.
In the end, I'm glad I didn't daydream, as I probably would have had my dreams dashed or something like that.
I've dreamt of my wedding since Barbies! Back then I wanted to get married at Cinderella's castle and my dream wedding dress had shoulder pads. Oh, how times have changed!
The only thing that I've always wanted was karaoke and we'll be having it.
As a child.... as a teenager.... as a college student... I CONSTANTLY daydreamed about my wedding. The vision pretty much stayed the same the entire time.
-Simple dress
-Church wedding
-Outdoor Reception
The only thing that changed was my color scheme. As a kid I wanted pink and purple, through out my teenage years I dreamed of sage green and brown, in college I changed to blue and yellow, and 2 months into my engagement I decided on gray and yellow (after starting to plan my blue and yellow wedding).
I didnt daydream about my wedding, I daydreamed about getting married and having a family....so my wedding was everything I had picture and MORE because I had little expectation for it!
I think I dreamt more about being a "grown up". I can remember having this little shopping cart that I would fill up with all the cans in the cupboards doing my "grocery shopping". That is until I put one too many cans in and the bottom broke!!! LOL! To me, being a grown up is the realization of my sort of playing house/being a grown up dreams since I was a kid. I love it!
ETA - And yes, I still love grocery shopping ;)
@bakerella: Haha I was the same way! I actually worked in a grocery store in college and I really, really miss it, even though I'm glad I have a more stable career now. ;)
I never dreamed of my wedding. In fact, while I'm pumped about being married, I still find it hard to get into the little details like color schemes, flowers, favors, etc. I'm so happy about being a bride and committing to my husband, but I kind of hate the frills! I was one of those weird girls who never dreamt of it. :)
I was marrying Prince William… before my whole nearly getting kicked out of England for chasing him down thing
I never even thought I would get married as a kid, to be honest- my Barbies were always business women who didn't need anyone else!
I dreamed of growing up and moving to NYC and having the swankiest studio apartment ever, which I would share with my enormous book collection when I wasn't doing some kind of international travel.
FH planned on joining the Marines, retiring after 30 years, living on a mountain top somewhere with a German Shepherd, and donating money to charity.
We totally saved each other from our lonliness. And we're loving every minute of wedding planning! I feel like I'm really far behind though, since it's not something I thought of until right before I got engaged!

As a child, did you daydream about your wedding?
If so, how much has changed from your youthful visions to today?
Has anything endured enough to be incorporated into your big day? If so, what?
