    Hello Brides!!

What kind of pricing is your venue offering for children meals?

My venue has offered me $13 per child for a small plate of chicken tenders.  Seem pretty pricey to me.

    Please advise.

I think mine offered the same for the same price. I didn't pay too much attention because we will only have a few kids, but I swear it was the same.

Ours charged $9 but we asked for a side of fruit to be added (it came with fries already) so that was an extra $1...so taking locations into account (we were married in Bend, OR) I think your pricing sounds about right.

that does seem a little high. i'm looking at a place where children under 9 eat free!  that's pretty good, i'd say :)  don't really have enough kids to warrant being totally blown away by that, but i thought it was pretty good

Ours charged full adult price (!!) for anyone 3 or over! It was super pricey for kids who were literally gonna eat two bites. They said it had to do with the fact that a child still needed a place setting, chair, etc...but it still seemed CRAZY to us!

I dont think $13 is too bad, our kids meals were about $37.50 each which was half the cost of the adults.  Most venues I have seen the kids meals are about $25 each so $13 seems pretty reasonable.  It may seem high considering its chicken & fries but they also mark up the cost of everything to make money too.

Ours charges $8.95 for kids up to (I think) 12 years old. The options are chicken fingers with sweet potato fries or cheese pizza and fruit.

For reference, our adult meals are about $35-$50 per person, depending on what we select for meal options (that price includes a starter salad, main entree with sides).

    Formal, plated dinner.

Ours will be half price of whatever meal we select.  We're not ordering a specific children's meal since we're not inviting a ton of kids.

I think for being in Orange County, that seems more than reasonable. I'm in metro Detroit and our venue offers a per head buffet price of $20/kid for up to 10 kids between 4-12.

Our adult prices are about $43/head which is buffet and bar included. For my area, that was on the low end of prices. We even went to the next county (because my county is even pricier) to get a deal.

Sure that probably seems more expensive than a $6-7 Applebee's appetizer, but I would hope that price would include all the drinks and desserts or appetizers. You have to consider all the extras included if you are going with a hall.

Ours was like $25 I think. We only had 6 kids, so I didn't really care. Adults were $65 incld. open bar, cocktail hour, apps, 3 course sit down dinner and cake, as well as all tax tip and grat.

I think ours is 1/2 price of adults.  We're just having the flower girl though so the coordinator at my venue said to not even worry about it.  He said usually they just eat some apps and get picked up before dinner anyway.  He said if she sticks around, they could make her something.

At ours, under-5s are free (and have their own menu) and under-12s are £7.50, including their drinks and dessert.

Most other places we looked were half price for kids -- it's ended up a big saving for us!
