@HopefulSim:  A department store (like myer in Sydney; not familiar with NZ retail) would be my first stop.  If they do not have it, they may be able to help as they probably get that inquiry somewhat frequently.  Failing that, a menswear store is likely to be able to help.

There’s a light coloured version, too.  Also try second hand/consignment shops; since kids don’t wear their formal outfits more than a couple of times at that age, you should find some things still in good shape, and then you can consign it again afterward.

No problem.  I found the real secret to finding what I want online was persistence.  It took me several weeks of searching various permutations of my search terms to find a proper everning waistcoat in my budget, and, when I did, it was better than I could have hoped.

@HopefulSim:  I would definitely recommend a consignment shop. Most of these garments get worn once only, as the child has grown out of it before the next occasion.
