How about the Chinese restaurants in Westminster? I like Seafood Cove and Capital Seafood. Are you going to wear the traditional Cambodian outfits too? I'm not having the whole ceremony since it's too long for my fiance to handle, but I'm getting the outfits to change during the reception.
Seafood World caters to a venue in Diamond Bar. I think it's something like the Grand? but you can try asking Seafood World. Their prices are pretty fair.
How cool...I'm from Diamond Bar!
There is a Chinese restaurant in Diamond Bar called Diamond Palace Chinese Seafood. Here is the info: 225 Gentle Springs Ln, Diamond Bar, CA. ph # (909) 860-6339. The food there is pretty good and its a fairly nice looking restaurant.
Thank you all for the suggestions!!
lbchbride - I'm actually trying to look for something that's within 10-15 min driving distance from the church. Our Cambodian ceremony will be in Cerritos and the reception the following day will be in Newport Beach, so want to limit driving as much as possible since I'm making people drive from Cerritos to Diamond Bar to Newport that weekend.
Yes, we are getting the traditional Cambodian outfits too. I'm not Cambodian, but have been to a few Cambodian weddings and I just think that everything from the ceremony to the outfits are so beautiful and interesting! Since the catholic ceremony/reception will be filled with Filipino traditions (since I'm Filipino), I want to make sure we do something that celebrate's my fiance's culture as well.
bride - do you know if Seafood World has a website or what city they're based in?
kiyomi27 - I actually grew up in Walnut, but spent LOTS of time in Diamond Bar b/c of my church! I know growing up I think I might have been to Diamond Palace a couple times, but it's been so long that I don't really remember what it looked like. We will definitely check it out as soon as we have an opportunity to make it out that way.

I'm getting married in a church in Diamond Bar, CA and am looking for a decent to elegant chinese banquet type restaurant that is fairly close to the church for the rehearsal dinner. If there is no such thing, then alternatively, does anyone know of a decent to elegant other asian-type restaurant (i.e. thai, japanese, etc.)? I need a place that can accomodate about 100 guests.
My FI is Cambodian/Chinese so we are having a traditional Cambodian wedding ceremony the same morning of our catholic rehearsal dinner. So that being said, we want to keep with the asian "theme" if you will and try to have the rehearsal dinner at hopefully a Chinese banquet place or some other asian restaurant. We figure the rehearsal dinner can also be the "reception" for the Cambodian ceremony. Any suggestions?
