i found this article very interesting and also quite depressing…
lol the most common response to this article was “i’m glad i’m not in china”
im a chinese woman – i guess if i were in china i would be WAY leftover, over thirty, not that pale, advanced degree and *gasp* not a virgin…no one would want me! ugh! lol gosh i’m glad i’m not in china.

@gut_feeling: I’m Chinese (but raised in Australia) and currently live in Beijing, and from my observations, dating is just hard full stop here – regardless of whether you’re male or female. Girls here tend to have very specific requirements – the ideal man is tall, has a good job, advanced degree, owns property in a central part of the city, has a nice car etc. It can be as much a commercial transaction as an emotional one, sometimes more the former. There are many guys who can’t find girlfriends because the property market has just exploded in recent years in China, and if you don’t own a home then many girls won’t even consider dating you.
