Unless you are doing a Day of the Dead or gothic theme, I’m not sure this fits. I’m not a fan of Skulls at weddings (and I really don’t like the whole focusing on Death thing)

Honestly, I would be super creeped out by it. A little too morbid for my taste.

@LeopardPrintBee:  I don’t like it at all. It looks like a weird, colourful tombstone. At a wedding, I’d prefer to focus on a life rather than death.

i LOVE choccywoccydoodah cakes – never tried one but i love the way they look.

i also love the cake you posted, however, (not that i am a fan of ‘themes’ but…) if you arent having any other gothic-y touches i think it may look out of place.

HOWEVER – i rekon if you replaced the skull with some more roses or just had the love birds sat ontop of the tree stump it would still look just as awesome and still retain that choccywoccy ‘look’!x

I’m all for cool cakes and stuff, but this is rather morbid. :S Also, like PP said, I’d rather focus on life rather than death at a wedding!

Can you have a cool birthday cake instead?

I love it!!

I think it is a bit irreverent and cheeky – in a good way!  Some people will be offended by it, though – and some will think it is silly or morbid or whathaveyou.

That said, it’s a cake.  If you like, have it, and people will eat it.  They might talk about it a bit, but what’s a party without a little controversy!

It’s your wedding so if you like it and it speaks to you, you should use it.

If I saw it at a wedding, I would think it was odd, but perhaps if I knew you it would make sense.

Several thoughts: I have no problem with the skull or “Til death do us part”. I love goth or day of the dead weddings. However, if everything else is girly bunting type stuff, it might look a bit out of place. Not that that is a problem, but people are likely to scratch their heads.

And while, artistically, I think this cake looks pretty cool, it doesn’t look like something I’d want to eat. I, personally, don’t like fondant and I prefer my food to look like food. I know that many people don’t go by this, but that’s my preference.
