Mine were really up to my Maid/Matron of Honor and I.  I’ve known her for 10+ years, so I trusted her judgement.  That said, we were together when picking the dress out!  None of the Bridesmaid or Best Man were there.

I’m my sister’s Maid/Matron of Honor and asked her what she wanted me to wear- she didn’t really care what I chose. For my wedding I went shopping with her, but let her choose whatever she wanted. Personally, I’d give them some specifications and tell them you’d like to approve the dress before they purchase it.

I have one full figured bm that has had a baby within the last year… Making sure she was comfortable and looking flattering was how i made my decision.

We went together and then let my sister know from there.   So, it was my Maid/Matron of Honor and a Bridesmaid or Best Man, plus me and a friend.

Originally, I gave them free rein, pink dresses that were knee length and flowy, but they all complained that they didn’t want to pick the wrong thing so I ended up just picking for them.

I tried to get all the girls’ opinions, but my Maid/Matron of Honor and I did most of the heavy shopping and trying on. I let all my girls try the dress on and tell me what they thought prior to purchase.

If your girls went without you, you may want to reign them in a bit. I’m sure y’all can come to a compromise!

Each of my girls picked out her own pattern for her dress, and my aunt is making them out of the same material.  So each dress has a completely different neckline.

We all went to the shop together. I gave them some specifications (colour, length and that it should be the same type of material) and then they picked dresses that suited them from there. It worked really well for us.

i told them the color and designer and the rest was up to them. i recommended knee length since we’ll be on the beach. which they all ended up picking.  and i couldnt go with them since i am currently on west coast while they all live on the east

Mine each picked their own dress, but my Maid/Matron of Honor also picked the color for the dresses. I was living out the country, asked them if they’d rather do “real” bm dresses or department store, they decided on David’s, I told her I wanted blue and let her pick which shade, and then they each bought a dress in that color from David’s.

I had minimal involvment, much to my liking.

I originally picked out about 8 dresses and told them to give me their top 3 picks. They all agreed on one dress. When I went to the salon to see it in person I didn’t like the color… it was a dull pink and I wanted fuchsia. So I made an executive decision and chose another dress entirely. They were fine with it πŸ™‚
